The stars shined that night as well as the half moon, when the medicine cats met to go to the moonpool. It was cold that night getting closer to leaf-bare quickly. When the medicine-cat returned she was met with a dying Berrystar, losing his last life, and running of of breath quickly. His deputy, Echofoot, who was also Waterkit's mom, was there too with a worried expression on her face.
"He dying, why?!" She asked urgently
"I-I don't know, I've never seen this before" The medicine-cat, Icepool, responed panicky.
When Berrystars last breath died, the two she-cats finally spoke to each other.
"I'll take you to the moonpool tomorrow" Icepool stated blankly.
"Okay, who should I appoint as deputy?" Echofoot, or Echostar as she was now to be called, asked
"Its your choice, just do it before sundown tomorrow, or Starclan will be angry the clan" Icepool spoke quietly as if to not disturb Berrystar's peacful looking state.
"Okay" Echostar conceded padding out of the den.
She had a determined look to her face. Her grey pelt being smotged down a little from the wind. She walked to the leaders den and laued down. Sleep came fast, and calmed her mind, but her dreams weren't to be so calm. That night a prophecy-- or what she thought to be a prophecy-came to her from a starry cat.
"Echostar, a evil is coming. Trust no cat who doesn't get what they wish."
"Whom am I to trust? Many cats do not get what they want." She asked thoroughly confused
"Beware the path of forever darkness. Beware the stalker of dreams. An Evil greater than any is coming"
Then Echostar awoke and walked out of her den, to the medicine-cat den.
"Icepool, I had a dream last night." She said quickly, waking the she-cat quickly.
"A starclan cat I have never seen before spoke to me, he said"Beware the path of forever darkness. Beware the stalker of dreams."
