A more serious talk today

Hey guys, it's Candy.

After watching Miles Aaron Mckenna's video of him during the March for our Lives I'd like to take a chapter to talk about my position on it.

I commented something similar on the video, but it's probably at the bottom of the comment section.

I know this will get lost in the brain of whatever unfortunate person decided to read this, but at this point, it's too late.

This movement is so necessary, and it's about time teenagers/kids are allowed to share their views. But not everyone has the opportunity to share.

I'm a middle schooler, and I'm young for my grade. Being tall, I'm often mistaken for a senior or junior in high school.

The people who know me understand that it's almost essential for me to speak, my only problem is that no one listens.

When people figure out that I'm not as old as I look, they stop listening, and I'm told to "let people who know more speak."

These people probably aren't afraid to have their African-American parent leave the house alone because they're living in the same state Philando Castile lived in.

These people probably aren't afraid to listen to our president that wants to give teachers guns at school, because they don't have teachers that tell students the exact opposite of what the school's promoted attitude is.

These people probably don't have to work to feel intelligent.

These people probably weren't afraid to even share their feelings in the first place.

But I guess "If you ain't scared standing up for what's right, then you ain't standing up for much" is true.

So if you are heard, please use your voice for the right reasons.
