Blue ZirconxYellow Zircon fanfiction
After the trial, both lawyers save their gems thanks to an unexpected turn of events. YD is too busy hunting down the human fugitives plus her Zircon wasn't really the one to make all that fuss, it should be BD...
"Yellow!"- screamed BZ caught off-guard by the yellow gem's swiftness- "You're ok!"
"Yeah but not thanks to you, you suicidal airhead!"- Yellow Zircon replied resentfully
BZ seemed to paid no heed to her colleague's annoyance, she was sincerely happy that she was ok and nothing else really mattered (not even the fact that the other was willing to hit her several times). All these years of rivalry had made them feel like they needed each other in a certain way. It is true that BZ suffered horribly while Yellow rejoiced uprooting her every arguments, she always ended up all sweaty and shaking even the times she won. However, she enjoyed somehow the moments they shared together, it was fun in a twisted way, all the other Zircons were so dull before Blue's eyes. But Yellow, she had this... ah, how to explain? She liked her even though every time they met she was on the edge of collapsing due to stress.
"Yellow, I'm so happy. I'm glad you're ok, so many things happened... I thought about finding you but I was confined to my office and at the same, time I couldn't cope with the thought of you..."- at this point some tears began to cristallize in Blue's eyes, Yellow couldn't believe what she was seeing she knew that Blue had always had this anxious nature but crying? That was a whole new concept, it was so unexpected that Yellow forgot her desire to punch the blue gem... Instead she was taken aback by a sudden itch in her chest, this was new as well. She had always had some real fun troubling her blue colleague, it amused her a bit the way the other squirmed during trials trying to avoid getting her rocks tumbled but seeing her cry didn't amuse her at all.
YZ felt the urge to leave, there were too many nosy colleagues to continue the conversation there. She roughly grasped Blue's hand and walked her down the hallway.
"Your office..."
"What?"- answered Blue a little bewildered.
"Your office is near, isn't it?"
"Y-yes, turn right we're almost there"- she said as she wiped a tear from her cheek
A few meters never felt so long for YZ, once in front of the door Blue quickly unlocked the door. She felt a little weight lift from her heart when she saw she'd regained access to her office, both Zircons rushed inside and the door beeped again, locking. They were both breathing soundly and staring into the void until Yellow decided to speak.
"That was quite the scene out there, huh?"- Blue raised a hand to her forehead, no response- "You aren't planning screaming at the Diamonds again, are you? If so, tell me so I can leave before"- She was trying her best to get the blue gem to talk to her but it seemed to no avail, Blue started to tremble and only sunk further and further into desperation. She lowered her head and clenched her fists, it was a heartbreaking sight even for a gem like Yellow who had learned to conceal her feelings very well.
For the first time in her carreer, Yellow Zircon was speechless. Why was it so striking? She had seen hundreads of gems crying when they were found guilty, it was usual sight, it would be the usual sight coming from a Zircon who was always near a nervous breakdown. It was puzzling and Yellow hated it, she hated it and she couldn't think of anything... She approached a bit to her trembling Zircon fellow and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Blue..."- she stopped trembling- "come"- Yellow put her right arm around Blue's waist, it was so thin, everything about Blue looked so fragile right now. She slowly walked her colleague to a near stool against a wall and sit with her.
"Here, sit. Do you want me to bring something to you? Tell me how can I help you, talk to me! Blue!"- in one swift move Blue held onto Yellow's neck.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry. I...- tears began to cascade down her blueish cheeks, drowning her words- "I never..."
Yellow couldn't see her crying, she didn't want to, she felt that something ripped in her chest the moment she felt her neck soaked with Blue's tears. She hugged her tightly and caressed her back reassuringly.
