After the trial, both lawyers save their gems thanks to an unexpected turn of events. YD is too busy hunting down the human fugitives plus her Zircon wasn't really the one to make all that fuss, it should be BD...
It had been an exhausting day at the office where work only seemed to pile up. As YZ closed a case the silent Tourmaline who took care of the administration delivered two more cases to go through. It was just in the late evening that everything became quieter and Yellow had just mild paperwork to submit.
It had been almost a day since Yellow last saw Blue. In the comfort of her chair surrounded by the stark duties of legal service the image of her sobbing friend, weakened and overwhelmed by stress seemed far off. It had been just after about an hour that BZ managed to stop crying:
"Well, ehem, that was... such a pitiful display"- admitted the blue gem trying to compose herself and arrange her disheveled appearance- "I'm sorry you had to see this but it was in fact, umh, quite relieving. Now, I'm sure you've got plenty stuff to do so I'm not holding you back anymore I will just..."
"Blue"- Yellow cut her out- "what happened?"
Blue's brand new calm fell apart as she recalled the audience with BD, she adopted her usual frantic manner and told her colleague everything that had transpired the day before. Yellow couldn't believe it, she had actually agreed to such thing? Her golden eyes widened along with the realization that her coworker's status there was far more fragile than she had imagined.
"I've always thought you were a bit of an idiot, but now you've reached the summit of idiocy! How could you agree to such thing?! It's ridiculous -now it was Yellow who paced frantically along Blue's office- it's not only that thousands of years have passed but every evidence you have is circumstantial. Plus how are you gonna get anyone to cooperate when every gem in Homeworld has been taught that Rose Quartz shattered PD?! - she exclaimed with a swift arm movement- It doesn't matter if it's true or not, they're so damn convinced about it that they don't even wonder anymore! ". Yellow looked back at Blue, she would have sworn that she could hear the blue gem cumbling internally
"Ugh..- Yellow pinched the bridge of her nose- "I-I'll help you..."-said after a brief pause-.
"What?.."
"Are you deaf aside from suicidal and idiot? I said that I'll help you gather the evidence -now she paced confidently back and forth- we'll provide BD with an argument so solid that not even a Quartz soldier coul break..." She hadn't finished speaking when Blue threw herself onto her and hugged her out of joy, she was kind of pretty when she smiled. Had she always been this cute? Yellow felt blush darkening her cheeks lucky the other Zircon couldn't see it or she'd surely laugh at this odd reaction of hers.
"Thank you, Yellow! Thank you very much I promise I'll make it up to you, it doesn't matter what it is you can ask me whatever you want! You're a true friend!"
Friend? It had never occured to Yellow that their relation could be tagged as a friendship, she blushed reminding the scene. Now she was done with paperwork and heading towards BZ's office, she wanted to get started on their strategy as soon as possible but she wanted even more to go check on her new "friend".
