"Oh I know that this love is pain
But we can't cut it from out these veins, noSo I'll hit the lights and you lock the doors
We ain't leaving this room 'til we bust the mold
Don't walk away, don't roll your eyes
They say love is pain, well darling, let's hurt tonight"-Let's hurt tonight, OneRepublic

Chapter 13
Soham was called off for practice and without even looking back at me, he left. Not even a word of goodbye.
It was better that way.
For me, at least.
I cleaned up the store after the last customer left and as soon as my work was done, I called the one person I wanted to talk to.
"I need to tell you something."
"Is it really important? Should I come—?"
"I almost kissed Soham."
"You are at the bakery, right? I'll be there in ten."

"Tell me everything from the beginning. Leave no details, Jenny."
As soon as Trisha entered the cafe, I closed the door and flipped the open sign to show closed.
I sighed as I looked at her, eagerly settling down on the table on which I had kept her favourite chocolate cookies ready for her.
She paid it no heed as she watched me intensely. I walked towards the same table and collapsed on the chair in front of hers.
"Where do I fuckin' start?"
"From the beginning would be good."
I told her about the entire day to which she listened earnestly, nodding her head every now and then when it got too awkward for me to continue.
I knew I could trust her and I couldn't think of anyone else who knows Soham and I well enough to decipher what the fuck just happened.
Other than my brother, I suppose.
But, nah not a chance.
Jeremy can't know about this.
I don't even know if he knows about what happened in the basket ball court that day.
It has never really come up with Jeremy so I guess Soham hasn't really told anyone about it.
Including his best friend.
"So you're sure you guys were about to kiss?"
"I don't know, Trisha, but you know it felt like that moment—"
"Wow," she exhaled, deflating on her seat.
"I know and he has a girlfriend for fuck's sake!"
"This is messed up," she commented.
"I know."
She stared at me with a quizzical look. A few seconds passed before she spoke, "Do you like him?"
The inevitable question.
I knew it was coming.
And to be honest, I don't know the answer to that.
Its pathetic, I know.
"He has a girlfriend," I reasoned.
"Oh, fuck that. Do you like him?"
