SCARLETT: THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX

Chapter 2: Meetings

Dumbledore came upstairs to tell me about the meeting.

"Miss Gabriel-Slater, Miss Po-Carran. Downstairs, now please."

Eliza and I shared a look and Eliza walked down the stairs. Dumbledore looked grave.

Trying to lighten the mood, I sat on the handrail of the staircase and slid down it. Me being me, I crashed into someone at the bottom. Shit.

I dusted my jeans and looked up, met by the gaze of a girl with bubblegum pink hair and grey eyes.

"Hey! I don't believe we've met before. I'm Tonks. I'd rather not tell you my first name, as I hate it with a passion. Call me Tonks, please. Dora if you have too."

I nodded. "Noted. I'm Scarlett, Scarlett Carran."

"Scarlett Carran? But Dumbledore kept calling you Pott-"

"I know, my dad was a Potter. I must look like him or something."

Tonks nodded. "Ah. We better get to the meeting now, before Mad-Eye bites my head off."

We walked inside.

Eden was in there to, a sombre expression on her usually happy face. The only times I've seen this face show is when we played Truth or Dare in first year, and again last year.

Sirius was at the head of the table.

"So, girls.. we think You-Know-Who has a weapon." said Sirius.

"And what's that to do with us?" I asked.

"We want you to try and look into Lord Voldemort's mind." Said Dumbledore.

Everyone immediately flinched at the name.

"How are we meant to do that?" Eliza asked.

"Well, we want both of you, mainly Eliza, to focus completely on your task. Every night, sit still and think of Voldemort. Focus. Work from there. There may be books in the shelves down here."

I nodded. "More on this weapon?"

Sirius spoke next. "Well-" he stopped when Harry walked past the door. Mrs Weasley has apparently called him down for dinner.

I kept quiet as Mrs Weasley and Sirius had a little fight over if Harry should be allowed in the meeting.

"How come Scar, Liza and Eden are allowed in here? Not Fred and George or anyone?"

Sirius sighed. "Eliza is a Legilimense. This is someone who can read thoughts and feelings from someone, even if their far away.

Scarlett, as you may already know, is a Necromancer. She has the elements to control Water and Fire, and will shortly conquer Air and Earth. She can read minds, but only if a person or creature is in front of her. She should also be a telekinesis, but I don't think she's mastered that yet.

Eden is an Animagus dog, like me. As I can't go outside, " he seemed sad as he said this, "she will be useful later on."

I thought for a moment remembered last year when Eden had showed us her form...

Flashback

I swam to shore, grabbed my wand, and conjured up some floats and cast a spell which made the water warm. Then I sat on the side with my feet dangling in the water, a towel on my shoulders and romance novel in hand. Hermione soon joined me and picked up her book 'The Tempest'. We were both huge fans of Shakespeare, a muggle writer from a long time ago.

"Hey guys!" Eden shouted, "Watch me!"

Everyone turned to see Eden jump in the air and come back down again as a cute little puppy. A Labrador, to be exact.

"When did you learn to be an Animungus?" Hermione asked curiously.

"McGonagall helped me with the steps. I thought it would be handy, you never know what could happen in the future. It could be handy." Eden replied.

End of Flashback

She had mentioned it becoming useful..was that another prediction of hers?

Well, probably. Eden is amazing at Divination. She hasn't made any big prophecies or anything, but she's strangely right about things that happen to all of us. Especially this. I remember once in 3rd year that Eden predicted what I'd turn my Boggart into, and she was right!

I didn't even know I was going to turn the basilisk into Snape wearing a pony bikini, but things happen!

Anyway, Harry asked too many questions so Mrs Weasley shooed him out. Probably going to tell Ron and Hermione. I bet 'Mione will be pester me for answers later.. I thought.

After dinner, a girl with brown eyes and tawny coloured hair walked into the room.

"Hey, I'm Maddie Malfoy." The girl said. "Friend of Tonks. And her cousin. Do you know my favourite cousin besides Tonks, Raven? She's mentioned a Scarlett in her forbidden letters to me."

I nodded. "Yeah, she's one of my best friends. Why?"

"I have visions. She's going to get disowned soon, for hanging out with you, so maybe you can help her out. I'd love too, but a Dumbledore always has me caught up on missions. I was actually a Ravenclaw myself, so I got disowned at eleven. I spent a few days in exile before I found Tonks. We knew we were cousins, as I remembered from visits to The Black Mansion that someone called Andromeda got burnt off the family tree for marrying a muggle born named Ted Tonks."

I gasped. "You have visions too? Raven's going to be disowned? You got disowned at eleven?!?"

Maddie sighed. "Yeah, yeah and yeah. Harsh, right? They could've at least given me a few days to pull myself together and make a plan, but instead they told me when I came home from Hogwarts for Christmas. Shows what Dicks The Malfoy's can be."
