It was two weeks after graduation. Apparently, Harry moved in with Mercedes and Roxanne. Zayn and Perrie got a flat together that was ten minutes from where I lived. My apartment was was a perfect size for me and the best part was that my flat was downstairs. No walking upstairs needed. Louis and Liam shared a flat in the same building as me. We tried convincing Harry to move into the complex with us, but he wanted to be closer to Mercedes. It wasn't far from their flat though, only twenty minutes. It would be fifteen if the lights were on our side and five if we sped without worrying about lights.
Ever since I gave Roxanne the note, I haven't talked to her. There were a few times where I would pass by the bar just to see her, but never show my face. She didn't notice me there. If Roxanne did, she probably didn't care. Why would she care?
I was at the warehouse and about to leave, until Hector stopped me. He brought me into his office so that he could introduce his brother to me. His brother was leaning back against the chair that was behind Hector's desk. He was wearing an expensive suit with his blazer draped on the chair rest. His hair was fixed nicely and clean shaved. He did look like Hector, but much older and seemed to have a more powerful semblance to him.
“Dominic, this is Niall. He's the one I've been informing you about. Niall, this is my older brother, Dominic.”
I held out my hand for him to shake, “Nice to meet you, Sir.”
Dominic smirked and shook my hand, “Hector told me a little bit about you, Niall. He told me about your older brother too. Apparently, Hector and you have a lot in common.”
“How so?”
Dominic shrugged, “I was in jail for some time. Hector had to take care of the business over here while I was away. He seems to be doing a good job. He also told me how much of a talented worker you are.” Dominic looked over at the corner and gestured someone over. He was a little taller than me, kind of scrawny compared to me, dark hair, dark blue eyes, and had a little bit of stubble on his face. “This is my son, Billy. He might be the same age as you, actually. How old are you, Niall?”
“Almost twenty two,” I answered.
“Oh, Billy, is already twenty two, practically the same age.” Dominic cleared his throat. “Why don't you two get along for a little bit while Hector and I talk business with each other? Billy, stay out of trouble.”
Billy nodded and we walked out. I sat down on one of the crates and got a beer in hand. “Do you want one?” I asked Billy.
He nodded and I handed him one. “Thanks,” he said, opening the bottle and taking a swing. “Damn, I miss the taste of beer.”
“Why? You gave it up or something?”
Billy chuckled, “Yeah, something like that. Do you have a cig?”
I shook my head, “No, I don't smoke. I just drink pints.” I leaned back a little bit. “So, Billy, were you from here or somewhere else?”
“We're from the States,” Billy answered. “My father just wanted to visit Hector to make sure Hector's business and my father's was running smoothly. I actually might have some business that needs to get done too.”
“What kind of business?”
“My girlfriend actually lives here. I was planning on visiting her for a little bit. She really wants to see me.”
I drank some more beer. “You're lucky you got yourself a girl, Mate. The one I wanted ended up playing mind games and I fell for every single fucking one.”
“That's why you got to show them who's boss. My girl knows that I don't deal with that kind of bullshit. It's not my thing and never was.”
“It wasn't mine either, but I don't want to change my girl. She's perfect already. I just need to find a way to prove to her that I won't hurt her. Her last boyfriend hurt her bad, so she has walls taller than Big Ben.”
