"Niall!" I cried, putting my hands on his cheeks. "Niall, please wake up! Niall, don't leave me, please, don't leave me."
I felt hands grip me and pull me away from him. "Step away from him," Detective Hunter said.
"No!" I tried pulling away to get to Niall. I needed to be with him.
The paramedics came out of nowhere and started to ask Niall questions. "Sir, can you hear me? Squeeze my hand if you can hear me," the paramedic looked at the other one and nodded. "We need to get him to a hospital and fast."
They took Niall away, causing me to stand up, but I cried out. Detective Hunter and Hector were immediately at my side. "We need to get you to a hospital too," Detective Hunter declared.
I shook my head, "A paramedic can take out the bullet."
"What about your other injuries?"
"I'm fine," I grumbled. "They need to focus on Niall and not me. The sooner I get this taken cared of, I want to go see Niall."
Detective Hunter and Hector sighed, but agreed. They guided me to a ambulance truck and I was treated for my minor injuries there. Thankfully, it was nothing that a little gauze couldn't cure. When the paramedic asked if I was feeling strange at all, I said no. Sure, I was tired and my whole body was hurting, but I didn't think much of it. I needed the hospital to focus on Niall. On top of that, I didn't want to be treated in a hospital.
During the drive, I was anxious to see Niall. I didn't know how bad it was. He was shot in the chest, too close to where the heart was. I was worried that something got damaged and I was scared. I said that I loved him, but I started to wonder if that meant he was going to be taken away from me. If Niall died, I would never be able to live with myself. I already lost my parents, Harry was hurt, and now Niall could be dying. There would be no way I could live with myself.
Once the car pulled up in front of the hospital, Detective Hunter and I ran inside. My whole body hurt, but I had the energy to see Niall. What happened to him gave a rush of adrenaline. Even though I was in pain, I didn't care. Niall was my main priority and I needed him to be alright.
"Did Niall Horan get checked in yet?" Detective Hunter asked the nurse.
She nodded, "They're working on him now to stabilize him. During the ride to the hospital he went into shock." The nurse looked at me. "Does she need to get admitted?"
"Yes, she does."
"No, I don't." I glared at Detective Hunter and looked at the nurse. "When will I know that he's okay?"
"I can't necessarily say. I'm not working on him so you would have to wait until the doctor currently in the room with him to tell you. However, it's hospital policy that only family can ask for updates on-"
My head felt light and I swore it was a hundred degrees in the hospital. I rolled my eyes, "I'm his girlfriend. His family is in Ireland and I don't know how to get in touch with them. I'm the closest person to him right now. I need to know if he'll be okay. I don't think you understand that."
"Michelle, calm down," Detective Hunter said.
"Don't tell me to calm down! My boyfriend was just shot and you have the nerve to tell me to calm down?! " I placed my hand on my forehead that had sweat forming. A dizzy spell hitting me, but I ignored it. I leaned against the counter to look at the nurse. "I don't care if it's your policy to only notify his family. I need to know if he will be alright."
"Ma'am, I know that you're stressed," the nurse began.
I rolled my eyes, wiping some sweat off my forehead with the back of my hand. "One reason why I hate hospitals, they show no sense of fucking sympathy. Why is it so hot in here?"
