Look! Look! On that hill top,
Away so far.
Is that a tree, not dead, but alive?That one single, leaf,
All alone
Green and strong
It flits in the wind,
But stays with its branch.The first sign of life,
That my eyes have seen
In many years,
struggling to see the top of that hillBut now I see, and I rejoice with glee
That this world is not gone,
And will rise again.And now, as I lie,
I will rest in peace and contentment,
As I know, we shall live again.
But as for me, I will sleep,
Sleep in my bed of grass, with headboard of wood.
Here with the earth I so loved,
I may finally, die.
