 The Risen Shadow

A strong ray of light shone through the blinds and curtains of the motel room. Grumpily turning and twisting on the bed until a side suits my comfort, eyes still closed in the mean time, I had fell off the bed. "Oh come the fuck on!", I whined, getting up. That's when gravity seemed to go against me and I became weak in the legs and arms, only half awake. Muttering a few curse words into the air, I plopped down back onto the bed and folded my legs up underneath me to where I was sitting up, leaning against the pillow and bed board.

Once giving my mind sometime to clear and wake up, I turn my head to see if Sean was there or I was just dreaming. He wasn't there so it was just a dream. Nothing happened last night, luckily saving our friendship from any disaster. I sighed happily, not wanting to bring up the airport incident that happened a long time ago, in my head. Grabbing the television remote to a first time ever, nice flat screen TV in a motel. Other motels or hotels I stayed at had shitty WiFi and crappy twelve channel selection boxed TVs with horrible picture quality. This Samsung television however, had wonderful picture view once I switched it on. Changing the channel to the news, news channel 3 to be exact, I sighed and sat the remote next to me. All I wanted to see was what the news are blabbing about Sean now.

"Welcome back to News Channel 3! We now have some more updates about the tragic and violent murderer, Sean William McLoughin. Sally Smith is now reporting on this in West Valley.
"Sally, how are things going?"

"Well, Wilford. I just learned from Deputy Anderson that the murderous Sean McLoughin had kidnapped a twenty-three year old woman, Y/n M/n Winters. This occurred just before the suspected murder of Signe Hansen, an ex-girlfriend of McLoughlin. Right now, Sean has stolen a gray Hybrid and is on the run for a day so far. I have a witness, owner of the car and a witness of the exact murder of Signe Hansen also a close friend of Y/n Winters with me today. Mark, where were you at the time when Y/n was kidnapped?"

That fucking prick.

"I was over at her house for just a visit when all of a sudden I found Sean hiding in her closet. Thinking fast, I pinned him onto the wall, trying to stop him from retrieving Y/n. Sadly I failed and Sean captured Y/n. All I hope for is her to be alive and okay."

"Do you remember wh-"

"Is that Mark?!", a voice asked interrupting my focus on the TV. I looked up to see Sean dressed in his usual same gray Berlin shirt and jeans, that he had, ever since we left. He was looking at me while running his hand through his damp looking hair. He must of taken a shower.

"Y-"

Knock....Knock......Knock.

Three knocks came from the front door of motel room, interrupting me. Sean and I looked at each other, questionably, both wondering if we should answer it.

"Open up! We know your in there!", a bold voice from the other side of door, demanded.

I immediately got up and walked toward the window. Sean waved his arms at me, signaling not to interfere. I ignored him and moved the blinds a little so I could peek at whose out there. Sadly, I couldn't get a good view since the window was too far from the door. I shrugged and went over to the door and opened it. Seeing that is was a cop, I immediately slammed the door.

"Hey!! Open the door right now!! Sean William McLoughlin, we know your in there!", the cop called.

Sean's eyes went wide and he grabbed my wrist, giving me no time to respond, and pulled me towards the bed, pointing to the open space underneath it. "Hide under there while I distract him!", Sean ordered.
