"Let me get this straight, you saw Ria inside the campus kanina because apparently may susuduin siya which is her brother nga then ang plot twist ng EJscapade niyo is kapatid niya si William?"
"You need to really come up with better puns, that was terrible. Pero why and how do you know him?"
"He's the guy who keeps on nagging Fel. Though I think your sister isn't bothered naman, they're friends pa nga ata. The kid's also nice."
"No. he isn't. "
I took a glance at the now frowning Bea. "Yes, he is. Don't be unfair, Bei. Just because he's Ria's brother ..."
"Don't even go there. I moved on. You sho--"
"...mga lalaki ngayon makikita mo mga nakapalda, may mga make up pa...." I'm so confused with theology in Ateneo. Theology technically means the fucking study of religious beliefs. The study of the divine. Then why is it that we mostly discuss Christianity, I get that we are a christian sectarian university but there are also so many beliefs out there. Like Islam or Buddhism or Shintoism, how can they expect to "holistic" if they only show us one side of a thousand-sided stone? If they are just going to teach about christianity they should have made it into christology and not theo. I know compared to *some* sectarian universities (looking at you u/s/t) we are quite more open and accepting but of course, the devils aren't that far behind. For example, the homophobic, misogynistic professors who think that since they teach theology they are closer to god's heart than the rest of us.
I rolled my eyes. Here we go again with the stupid remarks, Sir Quezon.
"This is the class you wanted to attend?" Bea hates Quezon with every cell in her body. For obvious reason. She tried filing a complaint multiple times, still every single one was for nought. No actions were taken. Just mere warnings and suspensions.
"We need to. Anyway, inaway kayo nung magkapatid or was it the other way around?", I saw her nodding her head not towards me though. She trying too hard to pretend that she's interested in any kind of bullshit Quezon is saying that she is starting to look dead. Bea was right, we should've just went somewhere but instead we're stuck here in this deep shit room with an idiot for a professor.
Shrugging her shoulders she said, "Fel is having a bad day. The dude was being annoying."
"Are you sure he was annoying orrrrr you and Deanna are being OA again?" She could never really pull off an angry look, unlike Deanna. (jesus, she even scares me sometimes) Bei, has way too much Tita Ly in her.
"I'm nice kaya. You're the only one who keeps on telling me that I'm mean, come on Madz. What gives?"
"Aside from Kianna you mean?"
"Aw, hell no. Kianna is mean by default. However, right now, I think you two are mean by default."
"Ba't nadamay ako? I'm just asking questions."
"You are already involved the moment you agreed with this friendship. How much longer before we're dismissed?"
"Forty-five minutes of torture pa. I'm regretting na pumasok pa tayo. This is so draggingggggg."
"Madz, I need to go. Maybe Rex doesn't know where Fel's class is or..."
"You need to sit the fuck down. Gago si Rex pero 'di naman ATA yun tanga," The three of them started to have this, I think, a sixth sense after the incident. That they start to get uncomfortable the Moment their youngest is also feeling uneasy. If Bea is this jittery and Ate Mich is constantly pinging me up for updates I can only imagine Deanna's uneasiness. Their connection is still stronger than the other two. She's the twin eh.
"Can you ask Rex? Please? I just have this feeling na ano..." Haaaaay
"Okay. I'll ask him. Pero please keep still. Quezon has been eyeballing us kanina pa. Mapagkamalan pa tayon--"
"Mapagkamalan na ano? Na tayo? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
There she goes again. Implying things and putting words and actions into a fucking box.
Snorting I said, "As if."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So Ly, what's up?"
"I've been explaining the situation kanina pero kain ka lang nang kain. Ano ba yan Kimmy."
"I haven't got time to eat breakfast, I'm organizing my daughter's birthday party. Why are you attacking me?"
We all have questions. I know. But the most frequent question I have circling in my head is (not that I'm not grateful for them) but we're grown adult who who have jobs to keep or offices to run and yet these four still manage to get out of their swivel chairs. "Pfft. Let's see how that will come out. You don't even know what's the difference between a dandelion and a marigold."
"Fuck off, Mika. I already know kung ano ang marigold. Dandelions are still weird looking."
"Can you two first shut up. May plano ka ba Ly? You need to address this to the school mismo di ba?" Thank god for Ara Galang.
"We'll have lunch with Mikko to discuss this first," I turned to Jovee "Ba't ang tahimik mo ata diyan?"
"I'm just thinking na what if this has been happening dati tapos our kids know about this pero they just kept mum?"
"I don't know about that Jovs. Wala namang kinukwento sina Kianna na nakuwento ni Bea. Except for that time na nagkariot si Bea at yung anak ni Palma, hahahahahhaha! That one's a classic."
"Kapal ng mukha tumawa siya nga yung pinaka napraning para sa inaanak niya. Talo mo pa nun si Den, Kimmy." Ara interjected. Yeah, if only this thing is as simple as that.
"Tangina niyong lahat. Nakita niyo ba mukha ni Bea nun? May punit pa nga ata siya sa may kilay eh."
"Guys, can you just shut it for a sec? Jusko. Kaya ata pumunta lang kayo dito para makatakas sa mga trabaho niyo."
"What really happened ba?" I glanced them, aside from Mika, who is starting to look very concerned, the others looked like question marks.
Seconds past before Jovee braved to break the silence "Did you ask Felicia about this? Or tirada mo na naman 'to? Nako Alyssa, buti pumayag si Den sa mga binabalak mo."
"To be honest, she doesn't."
And I swear to you the look on their faces creeped the fuck out of me.
