We rode in silence and occasionally we saw stragglers moaning at us as we passed them, but paid them no mind. Soon, Takashi stopped and glanced down at the city below. Lots of them were milling about and the younger boy frowned before he looked at me a bit unsure.

"Do you think that help will come for us?"

I patted his shoulder sympathetically. "No."

He merely nodded and looked back down at the scene. "While Rei and I were on the rooftop of the school, helicopters flew right over us and didn't stop. I guess no one can be bothered to help us when they got their own problems to worry about." I said nothing in response as a loud groan sounded from behind us.

"Ah, it would seem that they caught up to us. Let's go." The brunette nodded and took off down the street, sending my hair flying behind me. I cuddled close to his back, stifling a giggle when the poor teen tensed at the feeling of me pressed against him. I wondered how Shizuka and the others were fairing with Shido. I hoped everything was alright. I knew for a fact that the man was grating on their nervous by now by spewing his theatricals.

"Minato, how do you know Shido?"

I blushed again at the sound of my name rolling off his tongue. "As I said before, I attended Fujimi academy two years ago. While Shido wasn't my teacher, he was the one who scolded me for getting into so many fights and tried to discipline me."

"What? How?"

"That lowlife is extremely sadistic and loved indulging debauchery with the young female students. He tried that with me, but I kicked his ass and gave him a concussion as well as amnesia."

"So that's why he didn't recognize you until you introduced yourself?"

"Yes, but before the whole incident with him, I met Shizuka who had just started working there since she was the one that always patched me up after the fight. We became friends, and stayed that way even after I graduated."

"Now the others are with that guy," the brown haired boy gritted his teeth, but I squeezed him gently to calm down as he swerved just a bit.

"Rei, Saeko, and Kohta won't let that bastard do anything. They'll be alright, Takashi."

He nodded and sighed to himself as we slowly made our down the barren street where the street light flickered ominously to flash at the bloodstained ground and buildings. "We need to stop soon for some gas."

"And maybe they will have snacks!" I perked up at the mentioned of food. The male chuckled as we passed several cats sniffing at the blood on the curb. Huh, so animals don't turn then? Strange. Everything was such a mess, that's for sure.

"There's no one here." He observed as he slowed to a stop. "They probably ran away or died and turned into one of them."

"But they'd be walking around, wouldn't they?"

"Maybe they went to chase after the living."

I nodded my head at his theory before spotting a car with its headlights on on the corner. "Look!" I pointed it out as I jumped off the bike. Takashi turned it off and kicked up the stand before taking his bat from me. When we approached I shook my head in disappointment. The car was crushed by a large semi-truck and the police officers were still in the car, but thankfully dead due to them smashing their head on the dashboard.

"Damn it. Are you serious?!" I ignored his complaining and approached the car. "Minato! There's gas leaking from it; don't get too close!"

"It's a police car, Takashi. There has to be something useful in it." He sighed and let me continue as he looked out for any wanders. I checked the back seat and spotted a black duffel bag. I took it and laid the items out on the seat of the bike. Handcuffs, the keys for the handcuffs, a whistle, and a small handgun.
