Once the door was open, I could see that there were a couple of zombies walking around. Kohta took point to shot two of them before we ran out the room, me taking the rear once again. Takashi took point and bashed heads. Whatever didn't stay down was killed by Rei, Kohta, and I. Takagi made sure that Shizuka didn't fall behind, which I was grateful for. Once the path was clear, we rested a bit on the stairs.

"Just to confirm," my little fangirl started. "You need not to begin fighting unless it is inevitable. Please refrain from a fight when the opportunity arises." We looked at the large group of zombies aimlessly wondering the halls in dismay.

"They only respond to sound, so try to keep it down." Takagi looked at us, but I really wanted to say that she was the loudest out of all of us. You know what they say about dogs with the loudest barks; they have no bite. "And to add on, they're powerful enough to break down a normal door. So, in conclusion, once they get a hold of you, you're done."

Then we heard a scream. I was impressed that someone else was still alive. This academy was huge and the remaining zombies probably heard her dumbass. Of course, I would have left them to their death, but these newbies wanted to help people as much as possible. Seriously, have they never watched any movies? We moved quickly to another stairwell, seeing a group of five surrounded by the man-eaters. I acted first and sliced one's head off before going for another, noticing that Kohta backed me up by shooting from a distance.

Saeko jumped from the rail above and brought down her bokken making me clap in awe. "Nice, Saeko-chan!" she flushed in pleasure before snapping back to reality as Takashi ran down the steps, taking out another of the undead. I didn't see what the others were doing as I made my way to the group. Once the last of the undead were out for the count, I blew out a breath and send my bangs away from my eyes before they fell back into place.

"Th-Thank--" the short haired female spoke up, but I stopped her.

"You're too loud." I grimaced when she flinched back behind a male with short dark hair that had a yellow towel around his shoulders.

"Is there a person among you with a bite?" Saeko stepped up next to me, taking over to talk to the scared group.

Quieter, the short haired girl responded and put her hands up in a surrendering gesture. "No!"

"They really do look fine," Rei smiled in relief as she looked to Saeko and I. Takashi came down the stairs and looked everyone over.

"Wanna come with us? We're gonna get out of here," he offered kindly, making me shake my head slightly. Shizuka came from behind me and hugged my arm to her chest as she looked at Takashi as well.

"Y-Yes, please!" Takashi motioned us to follow him, and I made sure that I was a buffer between our group and the newbies. I had a feeling that they won't make it. I stared down at the stumbling zombies on the ground floor with bored eyes as Shizuka released my arm.

"What's the point of hiding when they use their ears, not their eyes?" Takagi sighed at the sheer stupidity of it. I mentally agreed as I went down the steps more, making me ahead of Takashi, who sent me a scolding glare.

"Then why don't you prove that for us, Takagi?" Takashi shot back. Said girl humphed and pouted to herself. Without them knowing, I slowly edged my way down the steps as they all looked to Saeko as she began talking. Arguing who was going to try out the pink haired girl's theory wasn't going to get things done so I took the matter into my own hands. Once I was on the last step, I heard a sharp inhale over the groans of the dead.

"What are you doing, you idiot!?" Takagi hissed, eyes wide as she stared down at me. I merely shrugged and faced forward, watching the undead bump into walls like a bunch of idiots. I walked forward slowly, gulping when a used to be teacher groaned to my right and turn his head my way. At first, it looked like he was staring right at me and stumbled my way. I remained still, sweat gathering at my brow as his face came inches away from my face.
