I woke up late, the afternoon sun streaming through my blinds and smacking me in the face. Brushing my violet-red hair away from my eyes and looked blearily around my tidy room before swinging my legs over the edge of the king-sized bed. "I wonder if Shizu-chan would mind me visiting her today?"

Humming to myself, I stripped as I walked into my bathroom and turned the water on hot before stepping in. I nearly groaned in delight as my muscles relaxed under its warmth. Closing my eyes, my thoughts drifted to my past. I had met Shizuka when I was in my sophomore year at Fujimi Academy, going to the nurse's office due to the wounds I got from a fight. Two girls thought I was an easy picking since I was just transferred in, but I had stood up to them much to their surprise and threw the first punch when they pushed me to the ground.

I remembered when I came in, she freaked out and nearly shoved me onto the cot, fluttering around anxiously as she got medical supplies. I relayed what happened, and soon she reported it to the principle, thus getting my ass out of trouble. Since then, I went to the nurse's office often to visit Shizuka, and despite our age differences, we hit it off. Then two years ago, I had graduated and kept in contact with the ditzy woman.

Reopening my eyes, I hurriedly washed my hair and body as the water grew colder. Once I was finished, I turned the water off and got out, wrapping my body with a towel. Wiping some of the condensation off the mirror, I stared at the bright crimson eyes that stared back at me and they trailed up to the wet, violet-red hair. "Welp, let's get ready." I mused and picked up my toothbrush, going through my daily routine before starting on my thigh-length hair and putting it in a high ponytail.

Nodding in satisfaction, I dried my body off and headed back into my room. Once in the closet, I pulled out my outfit for today which consisted of black calf-length boots, dark grey jeans with a pink belt, a white short sleeved, and a pink choker to go around my neck. I looked at myself in the mirror and smile at my curves. I'll be conceited and say that I look amazing! Chuckling under my breath, I moved to gather my things into a small bookbag-like purse and shouldered it as I pocketed my I Phone and headphones.

I left my one-bedroom apartment and locked the door behind me, noticing that no one walked down the hall, like they usually would at the time. It was strange and I had this gut feeling that something would go wrong today, making me re-enter the apartment, dump all the contents from my purse, grab a large satchel bag, and repacked it only with my machete added to it.

"I need to hurry to Shizuka!" I left in a hurry, locking my door again and ran down the stairs, bypassing a semi-terrified couple who rushed to their own apartment. I paid them no mind as I spotted my red Toyota Prius and unlocked it with my fob. Tossing my bag to the passenger seat, I turned the car on and took off, not caring when people honked and cursed at me. Something wasn't right, and I was going to make sure that my only friend was alright. I came to a red light, watching the pedestrians walk across the street when a man tumbled onto the road, screaming and hacking with blood spewing from his gaping mouth. A crowd formed around him as shouts of panic ensued. The light turned green, but I made no move to go forward and ignored the angry honking behind me. All the pedestrians crowded around the fallen man and a relatively young looking woman went kneel down at his side, fingering his nonexistent pulse.

For a moment, all was silent before the dark-haired woman's face brightened as the man sluggishly rose eerily without using his hands, his mouth gaping open showing off yellowish teeth that dug themselves into the unsuspecting woman's neck. "Zombie apocalypse, ne? Who would have thought?" I turned up my music as the people screamed, scattering like roaches. I punched the gas once I saw an opening big enough for my car, grinning when the squeal of my tires reached my ears. It would seem that I was right about something going wrong.
The familiar route to the academy made me smile a bit before looking around my surrounding, watching people running around in a panic, zombies shuffling around and snatching some of the people, chowing down happily. Many tried to wave me down, but I sped up instead.
Rule #1: don't help people you don't know. It could get you killed.
Their angry curses soon became shrill screams when one of the undead snuck upon them and bit into their flesh. Sakura blossoms soon entered my field of vision and I turned the music down, frowning when I saw a lone zombie bumping into the gate. I stopped the car and turned it off, glad that I didn't modify my car since it would have caused too much noise. Grabbing my satchel, I pulled out my machete and shouldered the bag before silently getting out the car, leaving it unlocked. A human, male from his build, starting yelling at the zombie and grabbed its collar, slamming it against the gates.
The others behind him said something as I slid against the concrete wall, looking for that hole that could help me climb over the wall that the city had yet to fix when I was attending the academy. Spotting it, began to climb when I heard the male teacher yell out in pain. I popped my head over the edge and raised a brow as the female teacher lean over his twitching form, relief spreading her face when he sat up after a minute.
Then it was replaced with pain and terror when he grabbed her, pulling her shirt down to show her lacy bra, and bit into her neck.
Woah, da ja vu.
