Chapter One

ALICIA

Gunshots and women screaming is all I could hear. In the dark, I could barely make out people running and men in masks... Who in their Goddamn mind would be brave enough to attack us? Especially now? and where the Hell is security?

I felt someone pulling me towards the door. "No that's the most likely way they would want us to go," I said slightly pulling him through the maid's quarters. I could tell he didn't like being told what to do.

As we reached the room he pulled away from me. " I just saved your life a thank you would be nice." I snapped. Just then the door opened, I could barely make out the two men in front of me.

They wore lights on top of their heads and for some reason, they just stood there looking at us. I took this opportunity to quickly take the knife I had strapped around my thigh and threw it at one of them.

The man fell to the ground with the knife in his head. the other one was stunned as was Stephani. I rolled my eyes as I took the gun from around his waistband and shot the other guy.

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Stephani asked practically yelling.

"Shut the fuck up," I whisper yelled. I could hear more footsteps coming towards us "take their guns and let's move." I instructed.

as we reached the foyer about six more men were guarding the door to make sure no one could leave. " There's six out here you take the three on the right I take the other three." I heard Stephani say.

i rolled my eyes and shot the six men. "Move your ass and let's go," I said annoyingly. God for a mafia boss he sure is stupid and slow. we managed to hotwire a car and drive away.

" We should go to my family's safe house," I said leaning on the glass.

"No it's safer at my house," Stephani replied. I just nodded my head, I was too tired to argue anyway.

STEPHANI

As I looked at the now sleeping woman in my bed I tried to wrap my head around what the hell happened tonight. How was she able to fight like that? I never heard about her fighting with her father's men. Hell, I didn't even know she existed until my father instructed me that I was to marry her.

I had to find out more. I walked to my office making sure to beep Mark in. I sat on my laptop trying to find everything I could on Alicia. Nothing it was like she didn't exist. I needed Mark. what was taking him so long to get here?

couple minutes later Mark walked in, "I was in the middle of umm...business when you beeped." he said smiling. I hired Mark after he saved me from an attacked about three years back. He worked with me while he was still in college. I trusted him with my life.

"Alyssa again right?" I asked laughing

"Yep that girl just have a good mouth." he replied "Now who do you want me to kill?" he asked looking at the computer screen.

"Not kill find."

"Sabrina?" he asked looking at the screen confused. Sabrina? I was confused myself. Sabrina used to help him do his assassin work for me, she was good, even sometimes better than him and she never asked any questions. He had asked her to work for me, but she turned down the offer and eventually left college early and basically disappeared.

" This is Sabrina?" I asked I never knew what she looked like.

"yea only she had red hair in college."

This would explain how she was able to fight so well. I now had the woman I wanted to help me become untouchable in my clutches.

"Well, Sabrina is actually Alicia Romanov."

"You mean the woman you have to marry?" he asked shocked. I nodded my head

"she's upstairs so-" he darted out of the room before I could finish.

ALICIA

I was sitting on the bed when the door burst open revealing Mark. Fuck.

"Sabrina?" he asked confused

"Actually it's Alicia, but you must have already known that," I stated

"What - what are you doing here?" he stuttered

"She's my fiance," Stefani said walking in the room. His eyes falling on me.

"I thought you were asleep."

"well, I let you think what I want you to, "I said smiling. "I took a bath and borrowed your shirt, I hope you don't mind," I said innocently. he didn't answer he just nodded his head.

"Wait I'm confused," Mark said breaking the staring contest between Stephani and me.

"I had to use a fake name to go to college people don't know what I look like, they just know my father has a daughter name Alicia Romanov. To stay hidden I had to use the name, Sabrina Gibson."

"You left and I thought you were dead," Mark replied

"Yea my dad found out that I was working as an assassin and took me out of college."

"you could have told me.... you could have trusted me." he pleaded

"I didn't want to put you in any danger, I knew you would have come after me and my father would have had you killed, to teach me a lesson. It was better than I left." I explained.

Mark left without saying a word and I felt bad but there was nothing that could have been done.

"I'll call your father and let him know that you are safe and you're staying here for the night," Stephani said as he exited the room.

STEPHANI

"Stephani, Alicia is with you no?" Vincent asked from the other line.

"Yes, I will have her stay here for the night."

"No...She will move with you. Listen, Stephani, There is a big threat to my family and I need you to keep her safe... Half of my men are dead and I suspect that it was someone working on the inside."

"yes sir, is there anything you need me to do?" I asked

"Yes, I need you to go to the house tomorrow and pack her things. Her mother and I are going to the safe house for now. the empire hasn't fallen but it will take some time to rebuild. until then we need to stay low."

"What do I tell her?" I asked

"Tell her the truth and tell her that it is a direct order from me not to get involved," he said before hanging up. Shit, this was going to be a hell of a season.
