Chapter four

ALICIA

This warmth was comfortable, I snuggled under it. As I did this I heard a moan.... wait chairs don't moan and last time I checked the chair wasn't this big or comfortable. With that thought I opened my eyes, realizing I was cuddling with that ass I jumped back, pushing him off of me but falling off the bed with the movement.

The sound must have woken him up because he peeked over the side of the bed sleepily. "what is it this time?" I asked.

"Why the hell did you bring me in here?" I asked angrily.. I was pissed that he brought me up here and more pissed that I liked sleeping with him.

"Fuck... it's too early for this shit just come back to bed."

"Like hell, I coming back in there with you!" I yelled as I made my out the bedroom. I made my way to the couch and laid there. I know I was being childish but fuck it who cares. couple minutes later Stephani walked down the stairs.

"Are you really going to do this right now?" he asked sounding annoyed.

"I am cause you were rude as hell... can you go back so that I can sleep?" I asked him rolling my eyes. He looked at me and sighed, ignoring my protests he picked me up and took me back to the bed.

"Damn you jackass," I said as I sat on the bed

"We'll talk about this later." He said as he got back into bed.

STEPHANI

"Fucking woman! I feel like I'm dealing with a child." I exclaimed as I walked into my office. "Where are we with that thing I wanted?" I asked Mark.

"Well whoever he was he is totally off the record, no birth certificate no family, nothing." He stated. Fuck we were back to square one, I need to know who this man is and what he wants with Alicia.

"Get me everything you can on Alicia," I instructed. He looked at me shocked.

"What?"

" Whoever this is wants her and I need to know why." I snapped. " Get it done while I go back and talk to her." the thought of it started to give me a headache.

"Maybe she's giving you a hard time because she doesn't know you."

"She doesn't need to know me I just need this alliance," I said pinching the bridge of my nose.

"You know if she doesn't like you she can get her dad to call off the entire thing, and so far you've been an ass to her... you're walking on very thin ice my friend," he said patting my back.

I thought about what he said he was right, I had to make her fall in love with me and fast. "What do you think I should do?" I asked him only half curious.

"You need to take her out on a date. Wine and dine her," he said winking at me. I knew sex was completely off the table, but that's why I have my hookers. I've decided for the sake of my cartel I will take her out on a date.

ALICIA

"Dad I can't take his damn attitude... I don't care if this is what I have to do I want out." I tried to reason with my father on the phone.

"You know what you are there for you have to do it."

"But-"

"No buts do it or I will disown you as my child... Maybe I will get your cousin to do it," he said through the phone.

I rolled my eyes "fine" I sighed "Bye"

"Love you," he said as I ended the call. Stefani entered the room. Good God, what does he want now?

"Get dressed we're going out in two hours." He said as he made his way to the bathroom. Was I hearing right?

"What?" I asked baffled

"Get ready we're leaving in two hours," he replied

"Where are we going?"

"Out to eat... Are you going to get ready or are you going to just stand there asking me questions?" he asked annoyed.

I quickly got ready and sat waiting on him. "You hand two hours and still you're not ready." I snickered as he came out of the closet.

As we sat at the dinner table the tension was clear. I hated the uncomfortable silence so I asked the first question. "do you have any siblings?" I could tell that the question caught him off guard.

"Yea I have a brother actually," he replied

"oh really?" where is he

"I think he's dead," he replied taking a bite of the steak.

"how do you mean think?" I was shocked at his reply

"Well I blew up his house but his body was never found."

"You blew up his house !?" I whisper yelled

"you know how this life is, we both wanted the cartel but it was given to me and he couldn't handle it so he tried to kill me... I had to defend myself."

I sighed I knew exactly what he was talking about, my own father killed his cousin because of his cartel, so I didn't blame him. "Is that why you're so cold?" I asked as he coughed. I laughed at his reaction.

"I'm not cold.." he said and I gave him a look "Fine I just don't like people getting close to me because they all die or leave," he said continuing to eat.

"I guess that's fair... I understand that as the boss you're supposed to be heartless and cold."

"So what about you?" His question took me by surprise.

"You want to know about me?"

"I have to know who I'm marrying," he said not looking at me.

"Well, there's nothing much to know about me. my father trained me to fight... I was an assassin for a while I actually did some of your jobs."

"Well, you obviously love fighting. why don't you work with the men in the field... they could learn from you... and you and Mark could get bonding time."

I was just staring at him.. why was he being so nice to me so sudden? "Are you serious?" I asked

"Yea I'm very serious." he took another bite of his steak. I smiled at him...Maybe he wasn't so bad... I could give him a trial period.

We talked some more and I was enjoying the time with him when the lights went out and gunshots sounded.
