Chapter Eight

ALICIA

I take a deep breath as i dial the number, i counted every ring before it is picked up One..... Two..... Three.... I was about to end the call before I heard a soft voice answer on the other end. 

"Hi mamma is daddy home?"  I ask trying to steading my heart rate.... My father is not an easy man and i know this news will set him off the edge. I wait the few moments that i am left on the phone in agony, listening to my own breathing. 

"Yes!" comes his voice and i stop breathing momentarily. "Daddy i'm just calling to let you know that the drug didn't work." I softly spoke into the phone. 

"What do you mean it didn't work?" He asked and i could tell he was trying to keep his anger at bay "Tony said it was sure to work." he said breathing heavily. 

"Pappa Don't you think that it is time for you to look at the possibility that maybe he isn't after you?" i said immediately regretting those few words. My father yelled so damn hard into the phone my ear was left ringing. I was sure I would go deaf in that ear. 

"Fuck i knew i should have just started a war." he stated, I knew if he had started a war he could have easily won. Stephani's men were weaker than ours, but now, now that i have trained them they are stronger than ever. 

"You can't do that now dad." i mumbled. 

"And why the hell not?" he asked jumping me, i didn't think he would hear me, I took a deep breath "Because he asked me to train them and i did." I explained. 

"WHAT THE FUCK!" He yelled again "The whole purpose of this operation was for you to go in spy on him and give me intel on what he is planning. Not to go all willy nilly and train them to be stronger." he words hurt because i know this was true. I got too close and that was my downfall. 

"But.. I can still use this to my advantage. See him marrying you now gives me more opportunity to take him down and take over.. When i have gotten enough special weaponry i will use it against him to take him down."  he laughed on the other end of the phone "These young boys really are foolish." he continued. 

I really wasn't following him, but did i really want him to kill Stephani. "Don't worry child everything i'm doing is for your future."

"But do we have to kill him?" i try to reason "can't we just keep him as an under Lord?" i asked 

"Are you stupid child?"  he asked, his words hitting me like a full force blow to the head. "ahhh" he sounded as if he just realised something "Don't tell me that my great Daughter and the biggest and best assassin i have has fallen in love with the enemy." he stated. 

"N..No I.. I haven't" i managed to get out the words sounding as convincing as I could. 

"Good keep your head on... Keep doing what you're doing child I'll have my reserves handle this, it'll look too suspicious if i bring you back home now." he said before he ended the call. 

I sat on the couch in the living room and surfed through the channels. Mark came and sat next to me. "What are we watching Al?" he asked as he placed his feet on the table. I gave him a look and he took them off. "Ok .. Lady of the house." he said throwing his hands up in surrender. 

After watching The Lion King for half an hour. Stephani came Bursting in the room. "We have to go Mark." he said as he made his way to the door. "What? why?" I asked I looked at me wondering if he should trust me with the information he just recieved. 

"one of my warehouses was hit ..I need to go." he said impatiently.

"I'm coming to." i said as i got out of the chair and followed him." I knew he didn't have the time to argue with me plus he knew i was a good asset in case something goes wrong. 

STEPHANI 

As soon as the car came to a stop Alicia hopped out, shit this girl is always on alert and ready to fight. upon getting out i saw the damage.. the smoke was starting to die down from the fire. I scope out the surroundings as i saw some men lying dead on the floor a mixture of both mine and the rivals.

I looked at Mark and he nodded understanding my command. I turned to look at Alicia but I realized that she had already take off into the mist. I saw a man walking to me with a look on his face followed by Mark. 

"They stole the fucking shipment." Mark said Fuck! that shipment had in some experimental weaponry... shit. Ahhh i was very pissed off now. 

"I see no signs of the attackers here alive." Alicia said walking up to me. she looks from me to Mark. "What?" she asked.

"They stole shipment that had in special weapons and the only people that new about this was me, Stephani, Ezra and..." marks stops taking a deep breath in. 

"Jose'" I sad cutting Mark off, I heard her taking a sharp breath in. 

"Then boss you're not going to like what i have to say." the man in front of me spoke. 

"What?" i was starting to get agitated. "Everything was dark so i couldn't see properly." he started ahh fuck i was impatient at this point. "SPEAK!" I practically yelled in his face. 

Alicia sensed my agitation and placed her hand on my arm "I could have sworn i saw Jose' here tonight." he finished and Alicia gasped. "Could he have been here to help?" she asked i knew she didn't want to believe that he was the traitor and neither did I... I trusted him with my life. 

"No miss he was with the other men shooting at us." i was soo out of it at this point i was pacing back and forth,my mind running wild. How could I have been so stupid, Ezra warned me, he was in my grasp and I let him go.  Why? because i trusted my fucking instincts... Instincts that fucking lied to me.... If i couldn't trust myself then who could i trust?

Ezra walked up to me bringing me back to my harsh reality "Boss i found this." he said handing me a gun... Jose's gun. All the evidence pointed at him.

"Shit this doesn't look good on his part." Mark said and i could tell by the look on Alicia's face that she felt really bad about all of this. 

"What's happening?" i heard a voice call making us all turn to face it... "You!" I spit out the word like venom. 

'What?" he asked.

"Does this look familiar?" Ezra asked holding up the gun. 

"Yea that's my gun." he said walking towards us.

"Stop!" i said as i held up my gun ready to shoot. 

"What's going on?? is this some kind of joke?" he asked laughing "Come on steph you're not really going to shoot me are you?" he asked.

"You tricked us... we trusted you and you go and betray us?" I looked over at Alicia to see her aiming a gun at Jose' tears clear in her eyes, I can see she's fighting to keep them back. 

"come on guys it's me." he says smiling. 

"Clearly you do not understand the seriousness of the situation you are in." Ezra says giving him a look. The smile is wiped clean off his face as he now understands what is being said. he looks at me full in my eyes. 

"Steph you're not going to shot me." he says and he was right how could i shoot someone i actually cared about. Few people know me to be a caring person and he was one of them. He helped me take over after I Killed my brother  was i really willing to kill him? A shot was fired breaking me of my thoughts. 

we all looked to see who fired the shot, Mark, he just stood there, his gun still smoking a little from the shot. "What the hell?" Alicia beats me to it. "We need him for questioning." she chucks him. I turned to look for Jose' but he was no longer there, in the distance we could hear a vehicle exiting all he left behind was blood. 

Fuck that little moment where we all were distracted aided in him getting away. "Don't worry." Ezra reassures "He can't get far if he's wounded, the good thing is we know it is him." I knew he was right, and when i get my hands on that fucker he's as good as dead.
