"Chase! Wake up! We are going to be late," Ryder shouted at the top of her lungs as she slammed my door open.
It would have been completely justified if I hadn't been awake and if we were actually going to be late - which we weren't. I stared at her with wide eyes, my mascara wand paused inches from my face. "Do you have a problem?"
"Oh, you're awake already. Sorry." She plopped down onto my bed. "Good because we need to get going. I want to get to class before Ryan gets to school."
I tilted my head and set down my makeup. "Did you tell him yet? You know he deserves to know, right?"
"Does he though?" was all she said.
I rolled my eyes before standing up and adjusting my outfit; a pair of low rise jeans and a black sweater crop top that showed my belly button piercing. Today was a sort of test to see what Chace would say about it. I liked him, but I wasn't going to keep him if he decided to try controlling what I wore.
"Ooh, cute. Let me do your hair really quick," Ryder said as she stood up and adjusted her lack and white striped sweater that clung to her still flat stomach. I was still finding it hard to believe that her stomach would get as big as Kaycee's.
I tore my gaze away and nodded my head at the ground. "Sure, have at it."
She ended up giving me a french braid in record time. She would've had it done faster if I didn't shout 'Ouch,' every thirty seconds like a little kid.
"There, done. Now let's get going. Like I said, I want to get there early."
"Man, who would've thought you'd sound so mature already. I was gonna give it another eight months before you started sounding like an adult."
She glared at me. "Hurry your ass up, Chase, nobody has the time to deal with you. How was that for mature?"
I snorted as we walked down the stairs. "You still sound like every adult ever trying to talk to me."
The parking lot was still fairly empty when we got to the school, so I managed to score the good parking space near the front. It was unlikely that any of the boys were here this early.
"I should wake up early more often! We barely need to walk," I exclaimed in happy surprise.
Ryder only grinned a little at me before getting out of the car. "Go find your boyfriend, he's usually here around this time."
"Really?"
"How do you think he gets the front parking spot?" She grabbed her bag off of the car floor and shut the door.
"Because his dad is scary and he can threaten their families," I muttered to myself before getting out myself.
It actually took shorter than I would've thought to find Chace, leaning against his car while talking animatedly to a familiar redhead. A flash of jealousy went through me before I squashed it down. Don't be unreasonable, Chase.
"Olympia! Hi!" I shouted as I jogged over to them. Chace and her both looked very quickly and I couldn't help the flutter in my stomach at Chace's broad smile.
"Hey, Chase, are you feeling better?"
"Much better, thanks." I glanced over at Chace and he was looking at me with a slight smile that I happily returned.
"Do you think you can practice?"
"Yeah, sure, I don't see why not."
"Um, I do, considering you have a concussion," he interjected.
