14: It Is Challenge Day

From that moment I try to keep my talking to a minimum while we walk to her lab. "When we get inside I don't want you touching anything," The princess says before opening a door to a large room.

The room is full of technology but I can barely understand any of it. It's like looking at hieroglyphics.

The princess leads me over to a table where she instructs me to lay down. She begins to type something in on a hologram chart of all of my medical records.

How did she even get everything, these charts date back to when I was a kid.

"Don't move too much," The princess says as she begins to touch and poke around my stomach. "I'm Zahria," I manage to say since the silence was defending. The princess laughs, well it was bitter but still a laugh, and says "I already know your name... I am Princess Shuri,"

Okay maybe she was a bit bitchy about it but hey. It looks like we're getting somewhere.

Princess Shuri continues with her examination and I speak again, "You know I didn't want any of this. Erik forced me into all of this...So with all of this technology do you think you could take me home?"

Princess Shuri immediately stops the examination and steps back saying "Am I supposed to feel sorry for you? For years you've sat in silence and in the first few days of my brother becoming King you try to overpower him. That's a hell of a coincidence American," She says not even bothering to call me by my name. "Just because we have the same color skin does not mean we are alike. It does not mean that I will help you. And even if I did feel some sympathy why would I send you back? So you could tell the rest of the world of everything that we have. They will steal from us in the same way that they did your mother country. So no American, you will not be going home,"

Once Shuri finishes I'm left in a loss for words. I thought I could maybe have her in my corner since she helped me, but I was wrong, extremely wrong.

Princess Shuri continues her assessment of my baby and walks away from me calling the guards.

"She can leave now,"

I sit up from the table and ask "Where are they taking me?" I was half expecting for her not to reply but Shuri says "You are going where you belong. You will be in a prison cell until the challenge is ready,"

One of the female guards comes up to me and puts me in handcuffs. "You and your baby are fine but-" Before Shuri can finish I cut her off saying, "I didn't do anything wrong. Please don't make me go," Princess Shuri turns her back and says "You and your boyfriend may not realize it, but you're doing the exact same thing that the colonizers did to the slaves. You're taking over and stealing our resources for your own gain,"

With that Shuri waves her hand and the guard begins to drag me out of the door. As we're coming to the elevator an elder comes rushing in and says "Stop. The challenge is ready," I see the look of surprise on Shuri's face and the female guard but that's soon replaced by anger with a hint of fear.

As I stand on the waterfall watching Erik walk around in circles hyping himself up I notice the different dynamics of the space.

The King has a whole army not to mention a bunch of family members backing him up in his corner but Erik only has me. And even I currently hate him.

I watch Erik as he cracks his neck and I try one more time to come through to him, "PLEASE ERIK. I'M BEGGING YOU, DON'T DO THIS," I myself know that I'm screaming, but Erik acts as if I wasn't saying anything at all. He isn't paying me any mind.
