233 Days until
My heart jumped when I saw the sleek black car pull up to the end of the driveway, I was sat in the window sill of the large window that out looked our front yard, I had gotten bored of the view until now. I jumped to my feet when I got a text telling me he was outside, I dashed downstairs as fast as I could without actually passing out with the large leather jacket draped over my arm. Throwing on the same dirty old vans that took me long then I would have liked to admit to put on. I had actually put a small amount of effort into my appearance, blue jeans and a tank top with a windbreaker over top - a complete downgrade from what he saw me in last but I wasn't trying to make a lasting impression.
"Bye. Love you." I called out into the quiet house as I threw open the door, leaping out and jogging to the end of the driveway. The closer I got to the car, the more nervous I was.
"Hey." I mumbled awkwardly as I slid into the passenger seat and immediately clicked in my seatbelt. His blue blue eyes were burning into me as I stared down at my lap before stealing a quick glance.
"Ready for your last night?" His blonde hair was tousled in between his fingers to fix it before he sped off down the street. The sun fading on the town, the streets were a warm orange colour and the shadows of the large pine trees everywhere made unique shadows on the roads.
"Jesus. You make it sound like you're going to murder me." I laughed breathlessly, my eyes stayed down at my lap. I was sitting in a car with arguably, the prettiest boy I had ever seen in my life, who for some reason wanted to be around me despite meeting me less than twenty four hours ago - I didn't know what kind of drugs I was on when I made these plans but they had worn off.
"I mean if you're down..kidding. Obviously." He seemed to be thinking out loud and the way he was beating himself up over that little comment made me feel better knowing I wasn't the only one who was nervous.
"What's something you always wanted to do? Things like skydiving, bungee jumping and cool shit along those lines will have to be scheduled ahead of time for another day." His eyes went back and forth from the road to me, it would have been cute if I didn't think there was something weird about me now.
"Another day?"
"I am planning on you falling in love with me tonight so you want to do this again. So what do you wanna do? Endless possibilities, limited resources." Too late, I was pretty sure I was infatuated with him.
"Anything. I do not do much." I probably sounded so boring.
"Why not? Life is your playground." That seemed to peak his interest by the tone of his voice.
"I don't like worrying my parents." My shoulders shrugged as I glanced out my window, the sun was almost are golden as his hair but it somehow looked like Gabi's hair as well.
"I think that's your problem Valerie. You're living for everyone but yourself, let's change that. Kay'?" I had no words.
"Alright. You pick what we do and I will do it." I said that with a million contradictions attached. I wouldn't do anything that would make my condition worse or even make me catch a cough, because that would lead to mom and dad worrying which was a rule I had made for myself
"I wanna take it easy on you for the first day but the fact that you could literally die tonight makes me hesitant. You ever been to the waterfalls on the outskirts?"
"Not since I was like seven."
"Perfect."
The car sped up as his foot laid down on the gas, a grin spread across his face as his eyes narrowed a the open road before us. I didn't even realize I was staring at him until he caught my gaze and just smiled bigger than before, he was so damn weird.
