Going to the Unkown ( a Gravity Falls fanfic )

Chapter 1: The Day it all Changed

Dipper was flipping through the journal for about the hundredth time when his Uncle Ford burst into the living room. Dipper watched as he came over to sit beside him sighing as he sat down in the chair.  Keeping the journal opened on the random page he flipped too he got up to sit next to his Uncle. 

" Where's Stanley and Mabel? " Ford asked looking over at Dipper exhaustion showing on his face.  "  Grunkle Stan left to go to town for something and Mabel is hanging out with her friends. Are you okay Uncle Ford you look like you need a break." Dipper said concern lacing his words as he looked at his worn out uncle.

  " I see and I'm taking a break right now don't worry about me.  What are you reading about in the journal Dipper you've been reading it since I saw you at breakfast?" Ford asked looking over to see what Dipper was looking at and looked at the page in confusion. Dipper seeing his uncles confusion looked down at the page he had randomly flipped to. It was about the crystal that could grow and shrink things  he then looked back at his uncle who had somehow gotten a blacklight out of seemingly nowhere. 

" What are you doing Uncle Ford?" Dipper asked as Ford shone the blacklight over the page,  brows furrowed thinking to what he remembered.  It appeared that he figured out what he was looking for and answered Dipper. " Well I remember while I was writing this page I asked Bill about the crystals and he mentioned that there was another type of  supernatural crystal in the forest called a Life crystal. I never was able to research that crystal ..." Dipper's face filled with excitement at the idea of another mystery. " Hey Uncle Ford is it alright if I go out and see if I can find one in the forest. It might be able to help us win against Bill or something."  Ford chuckled at Dipper's enthusiasm and gave Dipper the go ahead as long as he remembered to stay alert and keep out of trouble. 

Dipper smiled widely at Ford  as he ran upstairs to get a notebook an snacks. Ford told Dipper to be safe and that he was going to be down in the lab if he needed him.  Dipper ran out the shack towards the woods after he got all the things he needed. Dipper was excited he finally had something to do. He usually sat in his room and looked through the journal sometimes even going down to the lab to watch his uncle work. Even if he was only looking for a crystal he enjoyed being out of the shack  and looking for supernatural things. 

* Dipper POV * 

I stepped over a fallen tree as I looked for the crystal. I headed to where the growing crystals were and started looking around the area. 

' Okay those crystals are somewhere around here .... but I've already been over this area and there aren't any other crystals'  I think as I walked out of the clove and headed deeper into the woods.  I checked my watch an saw almost an hour had passed while I was searching the clove. I sigh and keep walking in a random direction checking for any crystals along the way.

  I was  climbing over a log when my foot slipped and I fell.  When the world stopped tilting I tried getting up slowly and realized it had gotten darker in the forest. As I looked around I saw a little path that was barely even noticeable I started to walk down it to see where it led too. 

' Man it is creepy here! Its so cold and dark ... where am I anyways I've never seen this part of the forest before?' I shiver when I hear rustling in front of me stopping me in my tracks. I then let out a sigh of relief when I saw it was only a doe. I continued walking down the path for who knows how long when it started to get brighter and the trees started thinning. I walked even faster almost tripping myself a couple times. 

I passed a couple more trees before crawling down a tree root into a  grove of some sorts. I walked into the sunlight relaxing at its warmth before  looking over the place for anything familiar. I groaned when I couldn't find anything that looked familiar and sat down on one of the many rocks around me and checked how much time has passed it had been an hour since I got here.
