Lucian Citadel 10.00 PM

The next day, all Lucian civilians gathered at the citadel. The only ones that seemed to be by themselves were Prompto and Cindy, separated by the crowd. They didn't even see each other.

The king, Regis Lucis Caelum and his son, Noctis Lucis Caelum, welcomed everyone, before opening the gate. The inside was enormous. In the middle of the ballroom hung a diamond chandelier. The walls were gold and silver, decorated with heart-shaped mirrors. Down the corridor to the throne, hung ribbons and porcelain angels with bow and arrow. In short, all looked very romantically.

Cindy loved the decoration, but still...there seemed to be a gap in her heart. She didn't smile or say anything. The same was with Prompto. He felt miserable, idiotic and frustrated for making the mistake he did yesterday. "If only she was--"  He suddenly noticed Cindy in the distance. Panicking, he hid in the crowd. However, that hiding place was soon long gone, as the music started to play and the people were slow dancing.

Soon, Cindy noticed Prompto as well and tried to reach him. She wasn't angry nor sad. She felt relieved. She felt happy. "He's here...He's really here! Wait...what if it's not for me...?"

The music soon ended. Cindy ran to the place where the orchestra was set up and took the microphone. "U-Um...Your Majesty...highness. If I may...there's something I need to desperately get off of my chest..." The king and his son looked at Cindy with slight compassion, hearing the nervous tone in her voice and gave a nod in approval.

Cindy cleared her throat and held onto the microphone just a little tighter. "Hello...e-everyone...Sorry, I ain't good at this. This isn't rehearsed. This comes from the heart...Some time ago...I entered this popular establishment called the Choco Café. I loved the place. They have great coffee and great desserts...but the best was the staff that works there..."

Prompto stood there in the middle of the crowd, his eyes widened as he heard Cindy speak. Eventually, she noticed him and smiled. "That's right...I'm talkin' about you...Ladies and gentlemen. If you look around you'll spot a blonde boy. He's right in the middle of y'all." The crowd now had their eyes on Prompto, who was blushing in slight embarrassment.

"I met him when I entered the establishment for the first time...His name is Prompto...and...I gotta tell him something." Slowly, Cindy walked down the stage and walked towards the crowd, who were making way for her. She smiled once she saw Prompto. He was nailed onto the ground and looked at her with wide, slightly scared eyes. Cindy just kept smiling gently as she carried on.

"Thank you...Thank you for serving me so well that day...Thank you for standing up for me when your colleague scolded me...Thank you...for saving me in that evening...from those drunk thugs...Thank you for taking me home, staying with me and for making breakfast for me the next day...but most importantly...Thank you for letting me feel love for the first time...Thank you..." Prompto briefly blinked as a small tear streamed from his cheek. He didn't say a word, just looked at her.

The crowd applauded loud. Some of them even cheered. Cindy and Prompto stayed silent though. There were no words needed. Without even even expecting it, Prompto took off, standing outside in the pouring rain. Cindy quickly ran after him.
