LYRA

I stared at the door as a lady in the clothing of a maiden popped her hair through the door and gawked at us awkwardly. I used James' body to cover mine by making his press against mine. This would've seemed to help in anyone else's view, other than the girl who was under him: ME. I could feel his hard member push itself against my clothed yet soaking opening. I didn't know whether to focus on the awkward position we were in or attempt to cover up the fact that the maiden's boss was caught making out with his personal assistant and secretary.

I continued to stare at the poor lady before being startled by James' cold and harsh bitterness, "What do you want?" His voice was demanding and intimidating. I was instantly grateful for having to be lying down under him, otherwise I would've melted from fear. I looked up at his face and realised that his expression carried annoyance and frustration as he raised her eyebrow at her. I knew how she felt, that awkward and intimidating position of being expected to say or do something when all you can do is barely stop yourself from peeing in front of him.

"Speak up." His voice reverberated through the silent room.

She hesitated before managing to utter words, "Si... sir... breakfast... has... is... ready." The words were stuttered and followed by her running out the door after shutting it gently.

I looked back at James and glared at him, only realising then that his member was no longer hard, since we were put off by getting caught. He let out a sigh before pushing himself off of me, making me compulsively sit up when he did. I whispered more to myself than him, "I should probably go."

He nodded as he ran his hand through the slightly long yet wet strands of silky hair, "You should. But eat first."

I tried to fight the need to want to slap him and strangle him for pushing me away like that, instead I nodded before climbing out of bed sliding my body back into last night's dress. Looking at him, I felt like repaying him with the cold shudders that he gave me, "Thank you... for letting me sleep over last night. Please notify me if there is any way I could repay you the favour." Regret immediately took me over as his head jerked up and his eyes widened at the words I had just uttered.

I didn't want to cry. At least no in front of him.
It lead me to practically running out of his bedroom and heading to where the smell off food was at its strongest. I froze when the sight of a table was in place, it was decorated with two plates for breakfast with orange juice.

I looked at the staff who watched me, waiting for me to sit myself down. Instead, I looked at them sadly and shook my head, indicating to them that I wasn't going to eat. "Thank you for having me." I managed to say, passing the maiden who had caught me with the man who made me want to cry, before hastily walking out of the door and calling for a taxi.

Sliding into the car, I spat out the address to my twin brother's place, before breaking down to tears in the backseat of a stranger's car. I don't even know why that hurt as much as it did. It's not meant to.

MICHAEL

I stared down at my sister who was too busy crying in my own arms. She wouldn't tell me anything but I had a feeling that James was involved. I crushed my teeth against each other as I gritted words out with anger, "I am going to kill him."

Lyra immediately pushed herself off of me and managed to put a complete sentence together, "No. Don't. He's my boss and that won't change. I don't need or want him dead. I just want to calm down." Her words took me aback, I remembered how every time a man broke her heart, she'd allow me to ruin them, but this was the one time she asked me not to. And who he was to her, with or without the relationship was irrelevant news to her and an excuse for her now.

I glared at her, trying not to shout at her for seeming so defeated, "Are you kidding me? He treated you like crap and made you cry. I have to make him pay!" I exclaimed and only received the response of her shaking her head sideways. "Just please don't." Her words were whispered as she whimpered herself back into my arms and wrapped her delicate and pale hands around my waist. Her grip had tightened when I wrapped my arms around her.

Looking up at the clock, I realised how late I was for the board meeting that I had arranged myself and couldn't get out of. "Lyra, I have a board meeting to attend right now. And I can't cancel it." I told her sadly.

She nodded.

"I'll call Derin and Victoria to keep you company here. You don't have to go home." I nodded as she did. "And please get yourself out of that dress, it makes me feel uncomfortable to see you wear that fuzzy thing for more than a few hours." I joked in an attempt to make her laugh and smile. It worked! She smiled as she let out a little chuckle.
Lucky for her, there was a room in my house that was hers and had her things in it... clothes included. She only ever stayed there when avoiding people, anyone in general... mostly because I would never question why.

"Please don't call him and don't tell mom and dad." She pleaded.

I nodded, "Please stay here and rest. I don't want anything to happen to you." I smiled before bidding her goodbye and leaving my own condo to attend the meeting my PA, Isabelle, had scheduled for today.
