✵ JAMES ✵
I held out the flute of bubbly before toasting to the wedding of my two friends. As I gulped down a sip, the guest hosts joined in with me and cheered on my fake and short edition of the speech. I didn't want to reveal the real speech I had written for them... after all I was made the best man for a reason.
Taking my seat beside Nathan, I caught sight of Lyra's mother, Sylvia, watching me. Turning around, to back her and avoid making eye contact with her, I looked up ahead. But that didn't help at all: opposite me was Lyra, smiling happily as she cheered lightly on my speech, "That was a really nice speech." She commented, happily looking at me.
"It's time to celebrate!" Lyra's father, Peter, happily announced before leading the crowd to the dance floor, while grabbing floating liquor from the silver trays that awaited for us to empty the glasses and enjoy our time. Before I could say anything, I turned to face Meia and Nathan, the two had been entwining their hands in each other's throughout the whole event, and I won't lie but I was jealous of their relationship.
"It's not the real one." I smirked to her as she gawked at my words. I nodded to confirm her affirmations before walking to her side, after ensuring that her mother was far from us.
"I hate you." She whispered to me, as she watched me take the seat beside her and sit on it. I smirked, "Now you know what it does." I said as I thought of how I gave her that device to wear, it would vibrate when someone would talk into the microphone... it reacted to the loud and aggravating sound waves that bounced around the room. Before she could say anything, I rubbed my hand up her thighs, before pulling out the metal I had her install inside of her. Pulling it out, I noticed how soaked it was in her juices. I smirked, satisfied at the results before throwing the small device into the bin. I could imagine how wet she was, and I'd be lying if I said that didn't turn me on.
"Get off your asses you two and dance." Meia playfully ordered us in a harsh tone before dragging her man to the dance floor. My eyes instantly scanned for Sylvia, Lyra's mother, she was too busy dancing with her husband, Peter.
After watching the bride and groom pair up to dance together, I offered her my hand and watched her accept it, allowing me to dance the night away with her. Of course the playlist for the rehearsal started off with some slow waltzing soundtracks, slowly changing into songs with more beats that came with night club vibes, hyping everyone as we lost ourselves to the drinks.

I nodded in response before looking at Nathan who started to laugh heavily like a drunkard in a blissful paradise... which might as well be the case for him. "You okay?" I asked him as he looked at me happily, "I am fine Jamie boy... just promise your dad that you will marry that girl over there." I looked at him, through concerned eyes, as he pointed to himself when he said father and then pointed at the feminine statue of the Goddess Aphrodite.
"Nathan, you've had too much to drink tonight." I commented, pulling myself away from Lyra as I wrapped the weight of the groom around my neck. Wordlessly, my sweet maiden wrapped Nathan's other arm under her shoulder and helped me balance him. "Thanks." I mouthed to her before turning around to find Meia with her bridesmaids, looking stable enough to party more. Turning around, I carried Nathan's weight to his room, that was right near mine... since I was the best man at the wedding.
Lyra and I finally plunged his body on the bed, while panting like we had just ran a marathon. Carrying Nathan is one thing, but a drunk edition that won't stop moving and talking and rebelling against us is a whole other thing. "Finally." She exclaimed with relief before wrapping her arms around my waist and letting me rest my head lightly on top of hers. Eventually we both let go of each other and left the room, side by side.
We stood at the corridor as I thought of something to say. "Want to go somewhere... alone? Just the two of us?" I smirked, realising I may have been slightly intoxicated when I said the words. But to my relief, and lack of better judgement, Lyra happily nodded before pulling me into a kiss. I could feel her arms tighten around my neck as she clung to me for stability. I let my hands slide down her back before grabbing hold of her thighs and wrapping her legs around my hips.
Pushing her back against the wall, I started to kiss her roughly, this time grazing my teeth against her lower lip and tugging at it lightly. Her fingers curled themselves into my hair as she moaned into her mouth, clearly unstable and turned on by the way our bodies were moulding against each other's.
She finally pushed back when she heard someone walking down the corridors, just as I let her land gently on her feet. "Have you guys seen Nathan?" Meia asked, sounding sober... I don't think she drank as much as the groom did.
"Yeah, we just tucked him into bed." I answered, watching the older sister run her hand through her hair. "He completely lost it tonight." She commented after releasing a sigh of what sounded like relief. Her eyes darted over to Lyra, making me pull myself away from my girlfriend, "Did you get the dress for Julie?"
She nodded, "Yeah... it's in my room..."
"I need to have it right now." She announced, clearly stressed and frustrated.
"I'll go get it." Lyra obediently declared before running down the hallway. I looked back at meia who was intently staring at me, "You really like her, don't you?" She asked me.
"Is it that obvious?" I asked her.
She nodded, "Yes and it's kind of why I am pissed right now."
I looked at her, shocked, "Nathan loves you-"
"It's not that James." She stopped me from talking. "It's everyone else. I got pulled aside after my mom watched you and my sister drag Nathan out of the party. She's not drunk you know. And she did interrogate me about your relationship. James, I am worried for the both of you. I don't know how to protect you both or what will happen if this gets out of control." She explained to me, making me nod as I tried to contemplate on what she said.
