LYRA

It had been a year and a half since I stopped working for James, due to our relationship becoming more obvious in the workplace. I left at my own will, knowing that working with him only gave me more distractions, after working for and with him for a complete year. After I stopped working for James, I decided to help Michael out with running the family business for a bit - but even that didn't last that long, only for 8 months.

I didn't mind that, it gave me the perfect opportunity to try and do something that I wanted to do, for myself. But not even that wasn't completely on my own. Meia and I decided open up a fashion company using the aid and funds from our sponsors: which were solely based on a list of people who we were either intimately involved with or people who were family to us.

The company was successful and didn't require for us to always be in, as long as one of us were in. And that meant that we had to split the five working days equally, where one of us would show up for three days and the other for two, and then we'd switch the figures around. But ultimately, I was the face of the company while she was the brains; I did the representing and she dealt with the business plans, but all of our designs were agreed upon and designed by the both of us. And that was one painful process which consisted of us both arguing about the drafted designs and which outfit would make the most sales and should be the one plastered on the cover of every magazine.

I stared at the fridge, looking through it for some food. To my surprise, there was still several ingredients left in the fridge, enough for me to transform them all into a delicious meal for dinner. I started to pick out the ingredients for my handmade lasagna that my lover had fallen in love. Funny enough, it had become his favourite dish - as long as it was made by me. I had gently put together the ingredients, mixing and placing them where they needed to be. I wanted tonight's dinner to be perfect. It wasn't a special occasion, specifically, but it was another day that I was making dinner for him, and I wanted it to be perfect.

Once nearing the end of the process of making lasagna, I slid the two individual dishes into the oven. I had to leave it in a preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes. Which gave me enough time to get out of my sweatpants and short hoodie, that I had been wearing all day long, and into sexier looking clothing for his return.

Grabbing my phone that had a timer switched on, I ran upstairs and headed into the master bedroom. Walking up the small steps, I walked into the giant space and down one straight line until I reached the walk-in wardrobe space. It still surprised me how I was living in the wedding gift that he had given me. Yes, the house was his wedding gift to me. The place was perfect, neither of us bothered about redecorating the place since it was utterly beautiful and complete - but we did add a few picture frames around the house.

The giant safe of fashion had both of our clothes equally distributed across the walls and inside the drawers. Walking further into the wardrobe, I skimmed over the selection of clothing I had. My dresses and formal attires were all hanging by hangers, while my shoes were posed underneath, on the racks available. I moved away from the open cupboards and moved towards the drawers in the centre of the dressing space. All of my lingerie and casual clothes were neatly folded away.

I sighed, dragging my feet across to his side of the wardrobe, before finally deciding to snatch one of his pale blue shirts that were hanging on display. I smirked as I pulled my own sweatpants and crop-top like hoodie off. I looked at my own reflection and smirked, deciding to take my bra off and only stay in my white cotton underwear. I walked out, pulling my hair out of the messy ponytail that it was restricted to earlier. Kicking my slippers off, I watched it slide to the side of my bed before finally coming to a halt, my attention diverted to my phone that I had dropped on the bed on the way here.

Finally, I picked the smart device up and made my way down the stairs and to the kitchen. The scent of the freshly baked pasta had started to fill the room up, leaving me with no choice but to open the kitchen windows to let the smell fade out. I still had 25 minutes left until the pasta was fully cooked, and 5 minutes until my beloved husband decided to show up into the house. But the waiting was bound to get to me and the silence that was warped into the air was only ensuring that I would get bored of doing nothing but wait for his return. So I walked to the living room and switched the TV on, naturally switching through channels until I found one that was playing Marvel's Avengers, the second one. It caught my attention, only because it was at the scene where Thor was topless in that dark lake... where he discovers more about the Infinity Stones. That man had one hell of a sexy body.

"Baby, I'm home!" A familiar man called out as the footsteps got louder, as the being approached the living room. I smiled to myself as I pushed my body off of the back rester of the chair. I spun on my heels and watched his arms wrap around me and pull me into a hug as he peppered kisses on my face.

"How was work?" I asked him as my arms hung loosely around his neck, while his hands were holding onto the side of my body.

"Good. How was your day?" He asked, looking down into my eyes lovingly.

"It was... different." I managed to say, after pausing in the middle to think of the perfect response.

"How so?" He interrogated, letting go of me as he became more serious.

"Wait here." I instructed him politely before walking into the kitchen and coming back with a piece of plastic in my hand. I gave it to him and showed him the results.

"It's positive." He whispered to himself before looking up at me. I smiled faintly, waiting for his response. His face lit up like a freaking Christmas tree as his face had a goofily happy smile plastered to it, "We're having a baby!" He exclaimed, pulling me by my waist after dropping the test on the couch, his lips steamily crashed on mine. He lifted my body up with his strength, granting me the opportunity to wrap my legs around his waist as our kiss deepened.

I pulled my head away from his slightly and confessed my love for him once more, "I love you, James." His pink lips curled up into a smile again as he responded, "I love you and our baby." I pressed my head against his as he continued to carry me in his arms, both of us enjoying the embrace we were in.

Our phone had finally broke us apart, I turned to look at him, "That must be dinner." He let out a small chuckle before putting me down on my feet gently. He switched the alarm off while I ran to the kitchen, to make sure that the food was okay and still edible. Which thankfully, it was. James followed behind me, while loosening up his tie and smirking as he stared at me. His eyes were dark with desire and greed as he watched me like a prey.

"Don't." I warned him. "That is exactly what got me pregnant."

His expression didn't change.

"Plus, I made your favourite: lasagne. And I'd hate for it to get cold because you decided that morning sex was not enough for you." I smirked, making my face change its expression from sweetly pouting to looking like I was made to sexually please him. Which may not be wrong, but it was not what I wanted to be right now.

"Fine." He casually declared before sitting himself down on the chair by the counter and waiting for his food.
