Gray went on a mission by himself and of course Juvia had to follow him and how happy she was that she did. You see his mission was to guard a banquet doesn't seem that hard but what he did not know was that the person he had to keep out was Sol of the former element 4. this is how the fight went

the fight went on like this until Gray could fight no more. He collapsed. Everything was dark but he heard a voice............Juvia's voice.

" Gray-Sama" Juvia called until she saw him on the ground and above him Sol. " Sol....why I thought you reformed" " Non Non Non my dear Juvia this man right here helped bring down Phantom Lord so I had to punish him" Juvia was angry at sol for hurting her beloved on screamed she shot water from he body the impailed Sol. As he bled out he said one last spell and crushed Gray's ribs and lungs killing him instantly.
