The air all around became suffocating. I wasn't able to keep my eyes open so I put all my focus on my other senses.

"She's mine!" Gavin said in the most dominating voice possible.

"She trespassed onto our territory. I'm doing the job that's required of alpha. Don't be upset little brother, how was I to know she was your mate." His voice sounded annoyed with an undertone of hurt.

"She's human!" Growled Gavin. His smell getting stronger since he was getting closer.

"Human? That's not possible."

My body was burning. The intense air burned, every part of my body was on fire. With strength I didn't know I had I pulled on the chains causing them to break. I hit the ground hard.

"AAHH!!!" I screamed.

"What's wrong with her?" Said Gavin walking towards me faster, putting his arms around my back causing me to let out another scream from the pressure he was putting on my open wounds.
"What did you do to her?", the air was becoming more intense. I could feel the anger coming out of him.

"AAHH!!" the pain was becoming to much.

"I did my job." He said defensively.

"But why is she like this?", he said stroking my face but his words still came out harsh.

"She must be omega. She's having her first shift. You letting out your alpha aura triggered her shift."

"Omega? Oh, Mon Chéri" he was cradling me in his arms, gentler this time, avoiding the wounds on my back.

I heard a couple of footsteps leaving.

"Aahh!" I felt my bones breaking.

"Its ok mon chéri. Stop fighting it, just let it consume you." Gavin said in the sweetest voice possible.

I did what he said, I couldn't describe it but his words comfortated me. I stopped fighting the fire sensation in my body, letting it spread.

After the burning stopped I opened my eyes. I saw Gavin staring back at me with concern and relief all over his face. But I didn't like what I saw reflected in his eyes. What should have been an figure of a girl was instead the figure of a wolf.

What happened to me? I don't like this.

I could hear myself whimpering. I wanted to pull away from Gavin but the voice was telling me I shouldn't.

I looked around and I noticed that the other man was still there, staring at me intensely. The other 2 guys must have left.

"Once she shifts back, her wounds should be healed." The man said.
"you have my approval to join the pack." He walked over to us saying. He gave Gavin one final look before walking back up the stairs leaving behind just me and Gavin.

While in my wolf  form Gavin explained to me what happened to me. I'm a werewolf. Everything I knew about myself became clear now. The reason I had better scences and reflexes than most people. The reason I had another voice in my head, she was my wolf but since I didn't have a pack neither me nor she knew what we were.

He even explained that most wolves have their first shift a lot younger usually during puberty. His brother, Tristan, said that I was omega. Which explained why I hadn't shifted yet. Omegas though werewolves, can only shift once they find their mate. Their mates' pheromones triggers the shift. When Gavin became angry over how he was seeing me hurt he was letting his wolfs pheromones out.

He even explained to me how to shift back. I had to simply think of being in my human body, to imagine myself how I was and I would shift back.
But before I could shift back he ran towards the open shelves near the stairs and came back with a blanket throwing it over me.

I was gratefully for this because when I shifted back I was completely naked.

"So does that mean you're my mate?" I had to ask.

"Yeah, I am." He said running his hand through his hair. He couldn't look me straight in the eyes while saying it though.

"What does that mean?"

Still not looking at me in the eyes he tried to explain, "Mates are... Mates are partners for life. Our wolves are attracted to their mate. Everything about a mate attracts them other, their appearance, voice, and smell."

Smell!

"Are you disappointed that I'm your mate?" I hated to ask but I had to know.

This he looked at me straight in the eyes, "No. I'm not disappointed.... I've actually known for a while that you were my mate. But since you didn't really know me I thought it would creep you out if I suddenly approached you. And when you agreed to go to the dance with me I was truly happy."

"Then why didn't you show up. I waited for you. I waited and waited but you never came." I couldn't stop the tears from forming in my eyes.

He pulled me into his chest and rubbed his fingers into my scalp, so comfortating.

"I'm sorry for that. I had every intention of going that night but I was forbidden to go." He tried to explain, "you see, my brothers the current alpha and what he says is kind of the law for our pack."
