The first week of school passed by quickly. Jaebum had been hanging out with his new seven friends and now it was time for the weekend. Of course the guys wanted to go out and do stuff, but Jaebum had to pass. He had already made plans with Youngjae from his old school.
"How are you liking your new school?" Youngjae asked, absentmindedly kicking a rock around.
"It's alright. It's just boring without you." Jaebum hummed.
"I bet it is. Have you made any new friends?" He asked, a bit nervously, hoping that Jaebum wouldn't forget him.
"Kind of. They forced me into their group. They actually wanted to hang out today." He stated.
"That's good. It's not good to be alone." Youngjae said absentmindedly.
"I know. What about you? Have you found people to replace me yet?" Jaebum joked.
"Hey! No one could replace you! But I did find some more friends." Youngjae stated while puffing his cheeks out like a chipmunk.
Jaebum nodded with a soft smile. "Good."
"HEY IS THAT JAEBUM HYUNG?!?!"
Jaebum slightly cringed from the annoyingly familiar voice that belonged to a blonde haired boy who often acted more like a puppy than a human. Jackson Wang.
The dark haired male turned almost robotically towards the group of seven hooligans. Jackson was already running towards him and Jaebum groaned.
"Jaebum hyung~" Jackson cooed, smushing his face into Jaebum's. Now the rest of the group was strolling over towards them.
"Oh jeez." The older male mumbled. He patted Jackson on the back, as if telling him to let go.
"I see they're fond of you." Youngjae chuckled.
The others finally made their appearance in front of Youngjae. Jaebum cleared his throat before introducing everyone, "This is Yugyeom, Bambam, Youngjae, Jinyoung, Jackson, (M/n), and Mark hyung." He introduced, pointing to each respective member, purposely making sure not to call (M/n) hyung.
"It's (M/n) hyung." (M/n) immediately interrupted.
Jaebum ignored him. "And this is Youngjae." Jaebum introduced his old friend to his new ones. There was a chorus of 'Nice to meet you Youngjae' that wafted throughout the group. Youngjae was looking at Youngjae and all of a sudden they pointed at each other, both smiling brightly. "Youngjae!" They both cheered, finding a sense of familiarity in sharing the same name.
Youngjae grinned, waving to them all. "I better get going Jaebum, my mom is expecting me to be home for dinner." He gave Jaebum a quick hug, not wanting to make a scene in front of his friends. "It was nice to meet you all! Treat Jaebum well or else!" He warned before parting ways with them.
"He was nice!" Youngjae commented. Everyone nodded in agreement except for (M/n) who slightly glared at Youngjae's retreating figure.
"What's wrong (M/n) hyung?" Jackson asked.
"Nothing." He chimed before immediately brightening up. The six boys internally smirked, their friend was jealous.

"Why does Jaebum hate me?" (M/n) asked, letting his head fall onto the table. He felt dejected after seeing Jaebum so happy with Youngjae, yet as soon as he saw (M/n), his smile immediately fell. Youngjae patted his back sympathetically. "I'm sure Jaebum hyung doesn't hate you." Youngjae comforted.
"I beg to differ." (M/n) sighed while sipping on yet another drink. His head was in his hands as he thought about why Jaebum hated him. Perhaps it was because (M/n) was too direct on his first day. But he couldn't help it, his personality was just like that, a bit overbearing when it came to things he wanted.
It didn't help that whenever he was in front of Jaebum that he seemed to forget how to speak and just blurt out whatever was on his mind. "Guys, do you think I have a chance with Jaebum? Tell me honestly."
"Honestly (M/n), we don't even know if he swings that way. You should start by getting close to him." Mark explained.
"It's hopeless. He doesn't even like being around me." (M/n) groaned, letting his head hit the table.
"That's why we're going to help you!" Bambam cheered.
"Ooh! Tell me how!" (M/n) exclaimed, perking up immediately.
"Can't." Yugyeom intervened, "You're terrible at acting natural hyung. If you knew what we were planning you wouldn't be able to keep it a secret."
(M/n) pouted but reluctantly agreed. "Fine, don't tell me your plans. Not like I wanted to know them anyways." He huffed.

It's just how he is.Jaebum caught himself mid message. He was about to send another text defending (M/n) but stopped himself. 'Why am I even trying to defend (M/n)?' He thought to himself. He turned his phone on silent after wishing Youngjae goodnight and plugged it in. He smushed his head into his pillow, ready for the day to end as his eyes drifted closed.

So...uh...*laughs nervously* 😅 haven't been around here for awhile...
So I unpublished and re-wrote this chapter (not all of it, but some), and needless to say, I feel much happier about this chapter than I did with the old version. I kinda don't know where this is going again, but I'll figure it out...
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!!!
