My Lifeline

She is the reason I exist,

My small, beautiful fore-head she kissed,

She took me under her wing,

Taught me how to read and sing.

I grew up as the years went by,

Went from A to Z and 1 to 5.

Taught me everything under the sun,

Sometimes even showed me the gun.

I was five for my first birthday celebration,

Informed my friends about this declaration.

She dressed me up like a doll,

And threw a grand princess ball.

I will always remember that day,

As it is my best memory, here to stay.

The years flew by quickly and,

I grew up swiftly.

Before you realised, I was in high school,

Which I thought, was supposed to be cool.

That wasn't the case, as millions of problems I faced.

But I knew, I could always rely on you,

As your advice is pure and true.

You are my bestfriend, Mom,

You will always and forever be the light of my home
