I thought as I gathered
My essentials, put them into a
Suitcase big enough to carry
Materialistic valuables
Not quite enough to fit you in.
I thought of laughter,
The kind that was so easy
When I was with you.
I thought of looks exchanged
Across the room
Long enough to emit sparks
Along my spine, all the way up.
I thought of us on your bed
Your fingers strumming away, damn
I got to call you mine everyday.
I smiled, reminiscing
Pizza in a parked car,
Pizza and conversations with you.
I couldn't think back to a time
I didn't find my home in you.
I left, I packed and I left,
I got off that plane,
I ran into your arms
I never looked back
And that was that.
