I could feel it. The cold breeze of the west winds playing in the air, whooshing fast through my direction and giving me a tickle at the back. My grandmother wrapped a shawl on me as she saw me shiver.

"Thanks Granny," giving her a warm smile. She also gave one back.

"Hush now, my son. They're almost out," her eyes intently gazing at the potted plants we had in our small balcony garden. We were hiding in the shadows making sure we won't be seen until...Finally! Spreading all over the leafy plants and lighting up the whole garden just like christmas lights, the fireflies are out again.

"Getting stiff again, huh?" Granny chuckled. "Come on, loosen up. You can move closer now. Just be gentle."

Okay, so it's really not as if this was the first time I and Granny went sight seeing for fireflies. I mean, we have this same thing done almost every night time ever since I was four years old, which was eleven years ago.

Eleven years ago.

Yes. Yes I could still remember it. The memories. So fresh, as if it all just happened yesterday. There was a huge smoke of fire all around us. I couldn't see much. I couldn't breathe and I was coughing out the bad air suffocating me. And I couldn't even move. My whole body was aching and stuck. I could also smell something fresh. Blood. Blood was dripping from my head all over my face. I was near to fainting as I kept crying that time. What can I do, I was just a little boy. A little boy who could not do anything but see his parents lying dead already. I felt REALLY scared. But then someone came to rescue me. A stranger. A stranger helped me get out of our car which was totally crashed and damaged. I finally got out. During that time, everything around me was spinning. Then my mind slowly faded blank and next thing I remember, the stranger was carrying me and was running. Then the stranger got my ears covered and we docked far behind. Next thing I remember, there was a huge collapsion throughout the place. The car where my parents were exploded. That was the worst day of my life.

"Luis. Luis. Luis?" Granny interrupted my thoughts and was now sternly staring at me. "You know you should fix your thoughts here, son," grabbing my hand softly.

I didn't know my eyes were getting teary already and so I flickered my eyes and blinked it hard.

"Sorry Granny," I smiled embarrass. Okay. I should really stop that. My pysch counselor even advised me it wasn't good for me recalling bad memories. So, whenever I'm staring far and blankly, my Granny already knew what that'd about and would get my attention. But now. Seriously. I'll stop.

"Look at them glow," Granny pointing close to one of the fireflies.

"They look so beautiful," I said, smiling at it.

"They are," Granny smiled.

Now that the fireflies are flying fast around me, I could now recall something. But it's not a bad memory. Actually. It's a dream. My dream. Ever since I was a kid, I was amazed by flying objects.

I laughed as I remember it, and Granny was now looking at me smiling.

I was and until now pretty much amazed when I see airplanes, helicopters, jet planes, hot air balloons...and even the birds, and this precious glowing fireflies flying in front of me. I love them. And I also want to be like them, flying high on top of the world. Okay, okay. I definitely know how crazy and bizarre this sounds but...Flying? It would be an understatement to say that it's fascinating to experience that. I mean, that would be so awesome and fun! So that is why I'm sooo in to science. Well, yeah, science is a cool and interesting subject but what got me the most at it is that it could possibly help solve many mysteries. Yes. I do think that to discover how to fly is possible with science. I mean, HELLO. Albert Einstein was about to make a time machine not until someone actually stole his calculations and blueprints (and that's the part most people didn't know that happened). Isaac Newton had actually so many attempts of trying to discover anti-gravity when he threw the apple that fell on his head up (okay, well I don't think that's genius also). And if there are lots of inventions of flying machines that were made, why not invent something that could actually make humans fly?
