Crime Squad's Deal

CHAPTER 4 - Committing Crime

Unknown POV

"Here," Emma said as she helped Jane with her hair. She tied it into a bun so that her hair won't be a mess on their mission.

"Thank you," and Jane gave Emma a smile.

"Good luck on your first mission," Bella said as the pair walked towards the door.

"Thanks," Jane said as she hugged Bella. Both of them had been close since they've known each other.

Jane pulled away from the hug and walked alongside Emma who's waiting for her at the door.

They walked upstairs to proceed to the parking lot where Henry and Clayton are waiting.

"Ready to go?" Clayton asked the two. The pair nodded and headed over to their One-Off Lamborghini.

"We have to get to Isaac Hellerich and retrieve the data that contains all of the information about the nanomites," Emma explained to Henry and Jane.

"Looks like he's a piece of work," Henry muttered as he scans the information about Isaac on his laptop. "Isaac Hellerich is one of the intelligence officers of the Mongoose Organization... wait, seriously? There's an organization named Mongoose?"

"There is kid. There's also an organization named after an ice cream flavor," Emma said while reloading her gun.

"What flavor?" Henry asked.

"Rocky Road."

"Well that's weird." Henry said, trying to contain his laugh.

All of their attention is focused on Isaac Hellerich. A decent five-story building you would never imagine an intelligence officer would live in. One by one they slip in the main door of the building. Quiet as the night and only the moon's light shine through the windows. The corridors aren't very well lit, and the dark wooden doors and deep maroon wall coloring made Jane feel claustrophobic.

They slink along the hallway before slipping into the stairwell and step through the door of the second floor.

Two fifty-four is the room they're looking for. They quietly stalked down the hallway, studying the numbers on the doors. Two fifty... Two fifty-two... and they're standing right at the door two fifty-four.

Emma started to pick the lock as quietly as possible. The lock clicks quietly. She twisted the knob carefully, slowly pushing the door open a crack and hears nothing but complete silence. It's a tiny space, an open room with a window across the door and a bathroom on her left. Not what she had been expecting, she noticed another door when Jane and Henry entered the room as well. Clayton was on a look out if there are any people coming. The three crept over to stand in front of the door. Emma looked at Jane while Jane gave her a nod, telling her that she's ready.

The door bursts open, cracking back against the wall, the two female barrelling in. Unnoticed, Isaac Hellerich was already standing in front of them, pointing his gun to Emma.

Silence reigns for a minute.

Then chaos. Hellerich's body drops, jerks the moment the bullet coming from Jane's gun pierces his chest and then collapses into a heap on the ground. Emma stood still, quite shocked at what just happened.

Jane ended it. Had proved she can be strong even if she's still living in fear and nightmares. She's alright, both her and Emma. She just faced danger and she succeeded on her first mission with her brother, Emma and Clayton. She's not a failure after all.

"Pick up the gun." Courtney ordered to her 14 yr. old daughter.

"Mom, I..." Jane started to protest.

"Pick it up now!" Courtney said with a firm tone.

Jane picked up the gun, holding it in both of her shaking hands. "Mom, please. I don't want to do this." Jane pleaded.

"But you need to learn self-defense. If your father and I can't be there to protect you and your brother, what will happen if you'll let your fear eat you up? Now hit your target."

Jane held the gun up to hit the target. A tear fell from her eye and didn't have a clean shot.

"You're a failure." Her mom said in disbelief, leaving Jane from the training area.

"Retrieve the data," Emma called to Henry who was waiting on the other side of the room. "Quickly!"

Henry instantly get his hands onto Isaac's computer, hacking the pass code. His skills are neat and fast and in a short span of time, they already retrieve the data where the nanomites are hidden.

"We'll take it from here," Emma said as she looked at Henry. "Thank you, Henry."

Henry nodded and left the room. He and Clayton need to get back to their vehicle while Emma and Jane need to get the nanomites out of Isaac's vault. Using the code Henry gave them earlier, they quickly press the number keys on the vault and as soon as the vault opened, they instantly took the briefcase and left the room. Echoing through the hallway, the sirens of the police cars as well as the screeching wheels can be heard.

Emma and Jane hid behind a wall, trying to keep quiet as possible. Jane held her gasp when she saw her father along with other CIA agents she's familiar with.

The group entered the room the women had intruded earlier and studied the area.

Unbeknownst to Emma and Jane, Emma left her bracelet at the crime scene which caught Neal's attention.

"Impossible." He muttered under his breath but eventually heard by his daughter across the room.

Impossible? What's impossible?  Jane thought to herself.

The two female luckily found a way out and head over to their car.

Back at the headquarters, the squad patiently waited for them to get back, hoping the four were safe.

"We got them!" Henry proclaimed as soon as he entered the door and the squad were glad, not only for their success but also for Henry, Jane, Emma and Clayton's safety.

The squad were overjoyed for the success of Jane and Henry's first mission but despite the others being happy, the thoughts of Jane were making her extremely conscious.

Something's up.  She thought to herself as she remembered her father's expression. Why is there a red bracelet at the crime scene? She can't even recall she or even Emma wearing a bracelet. How did it got there? Would her father knew she had just been there and killed a criminal?

Henry and Jane just succeeded in their first mission! And the second mission is not too far!

But now the question is, will Henry and Jane succeed in their second mission also? Who will they encounter next?
