School was officially starting for the students in the Hamptons. All the rich lust and "happiness" this place was said to offer, and Kelli Western , was not here for it. She had just moved to the town of Sag Harbor in the Hamptons, NY. Kelli's parents are lawyers who had to move from from Arizona because of their job. Kelli had long blonde hair, and green eyes, and a jawline of a shark. She loved to surf and smiling was her favorite thing to do. She was such a kind person. She also LOVES photography. Kelli was also the least excited to move. She went from having what she called a "normal sized" home, to a huge beachfront mansion. " Kelli. Wake up. We're here darling." Her father reassured from the front seat. Ugh. Now my life goes downhill. She thought.
Her brother, Kevin, got out first rushing into the house with his paw patrol backpack falling off his shoulder. Sighing, Kelli knew she would have to get out too. Brian, Kelli's older brother got out next. He was too "chill" for her liking. They used to play all the time before he found video games. He's the one who taught her how to surf. Brian got out and slung his sack of a backpack behind his shoulder and pressed play on his earbuds. Kelli watched them enter the house and then she got up, stretched, took a selfie, as she does everyday, and redid her braid before entering the house.
The outside of the house was old. It still had shingles and a creaky wooden porch with a swing. there was a big oak tree out in the front lawn, and boy was it green. The inside gave a different affect. It was more modern, but had a coastal vibe coming from it. Lots of sea shells and lanterns and Grey blue walls with white furniture, which she knew Kevin would ruin, and out back, was her favorite part.
There it was. The blue ocean. The bluest ocean Kelli has ever seen. And outside, there was old wooden benches built into the patio with new white and blue furniture and a black fireplace. An infinity pool stood sloshing it's water over the edge. " AWWW MAN!!!" shouted Kevin from behind her. The pool had a slide and some hammocks. It sure was nice.
Kelli went back inside to greet her parents. " so, it looks nice..." Kelli said, rubbing her shoulder as if she was cold. " well, it's where we are staying so you better enjoy it....oh! Dave, can you call the maid and tell her she can call the crew to help clean up and stock the fridge." Her mom answered, and then talking to her father. " Sure thing Jill. Let's talk in my office you three." He said, staring at Brian, Kevin and Kelli. They all walked in without saying a word.
" look, your mother is taking a lot of her time into making this house a comfortable place for you three to stay. Kevin, you will be starting school at Harbor elementary next Wednesday, and Kelli and Brian are going to Hampton High next Wednesday as well." — " Daddy! But I thought it was still summer!" Kevin said, throwing his hands in the air. " It is kev, just calm down. You can go in the pool soon. The pool guy came yesterday and checked, so everything is good to go. As you may see we had a designer come in to do the work for us. If there is anything in your rooms you wish to change, just ask mom or I to call the designer." — " uh, can mine be as far away from Kelli as possible?" Brian spoke up. " now Brian, that's not polite. But yes, you already are on the opposite side of the house." He replied solemnly. They all left the office soon after.
Kelli walked to her room which was indeed, as far away from Brian's as possible. She didn't mind. Who wants to sleep near jerks anyway? Kelli mocked. Her room was a decent size. Gray walls, and clips for her to hang her pictures. With a loft bed, she was good to go. Snap! There's another picture. She printed it out in Polaroid form and then lingered over to the wall and clipped it on. Taking a look into the mirror, she paused when she noticed a sticky note on the floor. " I love you." It read. Who was this for? Where did it come from? Kelli wondered. She shrugged and threw it off to the side as hyperactive Kevin came storming in. " UGH! your room is so BORINGGG sissy! I mean mine has sharks...EVERYWHERE!!!" He said. " wow, you don't like to brag, do you?" Kelli said sarcastically. She always knows how much her bother helps her fit in. These next days she will spend surfing.
