„Miss Kang, please look this way!"
Yeolhee squeezed Minhyun's hand before turning to the Photographer. Her heart was beating fast and she could hear Minhyun chuckle. Yeolhee tried to ignore him and gave the photographer her best smile. It wasn't easy doing so when your Fiancé was pulling on your hand like his life depended on it.
„Jesus, Minhyun!" Yeolhee snapped and turned around to stare at Minhyun who made an innocent face. „What have I done?" He asked and Yeolhee chuckled. „I am trying to take pictures for our Wedding and you are ruining our concept!" The female pouted and Minhyun sighed. „It's unusual for me to be the one that gets told what to do. I'm the one that's usually behind the camera." Minhyun pouted and Yeolhee rolled her eyes. „Just do what he says. I don't want to stay here longer. I get angsty." She sighed and Minhyun got serious immediately. „Don't worry, we'll finish this fast. I behave."
It has been six months since Hwang Minhyun and Kang Yeolhee have started dating. Their photo book was a box-office hit; not only in South Korea but also in Europe, Australia, and the US. People were in love with the pictures and stories collected in the 234 pages of the most wonderful photobook the world has seen, like the New York Times called „Pain is real, but so is Hope".
Yeolhee was on her way to get better and Daehwi was dismissed from Hospital just yesterday. He had a mental breakdown when his best friend Lai Guanlin passed away three months ago and was feeling even worse.
But with Yeolhee's help, who was always there, he managed to get better again. Yeolhee and Daehwi saved some money and bought a star, naming it after Guanlin. „He'll be with you forever." Yeolhee had promised Daehwi and soon he stopped self-harming and became more lively.
Yesterday he was finally dismissed but promised to go to his Therapy sessions to become even more healthy and leave his illness behind him.
„Hope is real." He had told Yeolhee when he said his goodbyes at the Hospital door. Yeolhee had cried three hours when it hit her that she wouldn't meet the quirky Highschooler and the quiet Taiwanese anymore.
But when she woke up this morning, Minhyun had picked her up from the Hospital and took her to the photo shooting she felt better. She couldn't believe how happy she was to have Minhyun. Especially since Minhyun made her his fiancé.
On the day Minhyun proposed it was raining and Yeolhee had just cried over an episode of her Borderline as she wasn't able to control her anger. She was wailing and throwing cushions around when Minhyun came into the room and hugged her. He told her it was okay and that he was there for here, forever and always.
And he kissed her like he always did to calm her down and then looked into her eyes and smiled. He gave her the warmest smile and promised her that he'll be there forever and then he simply asked her if she wanted to marry him.
Yeolhee said no.
It took Minhyun three weeks to change her mind and when he least expected she came and gave him a back hug. „I changed my mind", she said, „I think it'll be nice marrying you. Are you still open on that topic?" And Minhyun picked her up and twirled her around like she was nothing.
He slid the engagement ring on her finger and sealed their promise with a kiss.
Yeolhee never thought she would marry someone, someday. But being together with Minhyun opened so many doors for her.
People were writing E-Mails, asking for more short stories of the now, not so jobless, Author. They wanted her to write for their magazines and Blogs. And Yeolhee took every offer that she liked. Her last story was sold to a female magazine that posted cute love stories and Yeolhee had written her and Minhyun's story.
But what Minhyun didn't knew was the secret project Yeolhee was working on. It was a novel with the title ‚Storybook' and it was the story of a Borderline Man that fell in love with a Clumsy Nurse.
„Yeolhee? Yeolhee?"
Yeolhee shook her head. „Huh? I was in thoughts, sorry." She chuckled and Minhyun looked at her with an amused look on his face. „What do you want for lunch?" He repeated his question and looked at her with so much adoration on his face, that Yeolhee couldn't believe he was hers, and hers only.
„I want you." She pouted and Minhyun let out a breath before leaning down and kissing her. She giggled into the kiss and threw her arms around Minhyun's neck, feeling his kiss deeper. After they parted Minhyun looked at her.
„No seriously. What do you want to eat?" Minhyun repeated his question and made Yeolhee laugh until she finally picked a restaurant she liked.
Minhyun sighed but gently stroked his fiancé's hand. He was more than happy to have her. And even if she was mentally ill, she was still Kang Yeolhee.
As Minhyun had always said, Pain is real, but so is Hope.
끝.
