I was awoken by my phone blaring indicating I was getting a call. I pushed myself up from my stomach a grabbed my phone that was on the bedside table. I looked at the clock and it read;

2:37

Who would call me at this time?

I looked at the caller ID and it read ;

Nadia

I picked it up and sat against my headboard.

"Luke?-" she began to say but she was caught off by a horrible sob.

"Yeah, it's Luke, are you okay Nads?" I said into the phone

"De-r-r-ek" another sob "h-he cheated" sob "on me" sob.

I swear to god (sorry god) I wanted to stab the bastard right in the heart so he'd feel what Nadia felt. And then I just want to stab him freely.

"God Nadia, I'm sorry" and I was. I was sorry she didn't see the people that already loved her and didn't choose them.

"Luke" I heard her sniffle "can I come over?" Her voice sounded clearer but not like it was normally.

"Y-yeah, come in through the window okay?" I didn't want to wake up my parents or my brothers or else's they'd all kill me because sleep was so wonderful for them.

She didn't answer she just hung up. That's a first.

There was a tap on my bedroom window and I opened it and Nadia fell into my arms, literally. She tripped over the window sill and I caught her.

She was crying. She had mascara caked all over her face and her eyes red and puffy. Her tears soaked my shirt.

I picked her up and set her down the edge of my bed she let go of me and sat cross crossed in front of me. She didn't stop crying.

"Hey, shh it's okay" I recollected her in my arms. She moved so she was on my lap making me rock her gently.

"Luke. Luke." She cried repeatedly into my shirt. "My heart hurts" she'd repeat it constantly through her cries.

"I know. Okay. Look." I moved her from my shirt so she'd see me. "Hey, he'll come around okay? And if he doesn't then he doesn't know what he's missing out on. Okay there's a guy waiting for you. So stop mopping around and go find him." I wiped away the tears from under her eyes with my thumbs. "I really thought he'd change. You know for me."

I frowned "if he isn't willing to change for you... Then maybe he wasn't meant for you."

"But I loved him... And I told him yesterday."

That makes sense why he'd dump her now. Today. After she said what she said.

"Maybe he doesn't want to settle down right now. Maybe in a while." I hated lying to her. She's been lied to enough from Derek.

She nodded her head against my shoulder. "Thanks for being a friend Luke."

And I'm stuck in this circle again and again.
