Chapter 8

She came back after half an hour or so dressed up in a white tank top and some blue skinny jeans with a dark green cardigan over her shoulders. She had her make-up on her face hiding her tear-stained cheeks and her puffy eyes. She looks normal, like nothing ever happened between her and Derek.

When I opened the door she wrapped her arms around me tightly burying her face in my shoulder. “Thanks Luke, I hope you now I’d do the same thing you did for last night for you too.” I smiled and hugged her tighter.

We all hopped in the car and drove for about an hour to my aunt’s house. My mom’s sister’s always seemed to live far from us. But we’re used to the road trips since every holiday we end up coming and celebrating. We usually visit once a month anyways so we’re used to the long car rides.

Since we have a little car with only with five seats, two in the front for my parents and three in the back; Nadia ended up sitting on my lap. She’s not heavy or anything and I’m not complaining it’s just it weird. Yeah she’s my best friend and all and she’s sat on my lap while crying but its weird doing in front of my family. She has her back against my chest and she lets me here to music through one of her ear buds. We listened to the radio station for hours.

It wasn’t until her head lulled on my shoulder that I noticed that she fell asleep. She didn’t sleep all that much the night before it was mostly crying and whispers. I wrapped my arms around her stomach and her face nuzzled into the side of my neck. I kissed her cheek and took the ear buds out of our ears and stopped the music coming from her phone so it would waste her batter life. She slept the rest of the way dreaming about the guy she loves and I know it isn’t me.

Oh my goodness, the boys won best lyric video with over 78 million  votes at the VMAs. They did amazing while performing Amnesia  on stage. I screamed a lot., not guilty.
