---Jamie's POV---
The rain poured down in sheets, covering my long red dyed hair, making me shiver. I should have grabbed a jacket. I wish I stayed at home, but I couldn't. Not any longer. Not since he began hitting me.
One of the street lights went out in front of me, another flickered. Walking in darkness, I stumbled over a bump on the dirt road leading to my destination. I just hope he's home...
Rubbing my arm I felt the warm trickle of blood beginning to seep down into my palm. I ignored the urge to cover it up, only because its dark out. And I'm terrified.
I saw a light in the clearing, and I ran. The door opened and I saw a black silhouette. I ran faster and faster, and he ran back at me. I smiled and held back a sob, running until I felt a pair of arms wrap around my small waist, making me feel at home at last.
"Jamie... are you okay, princess?" he mumbled into my hair before I broke down in tears in his arms. I covered my face with my hands and cried silently into them, ignoring the blood running down my bare arms and legs. Shaking hysterically, I ran my fingers along his tattoo on his arm, still wondering from years ago what it meant. Pushing it aside, I stood up and start walking towards his house, tears making dirty trails down my cheeks.
"Jamie. Are you going to tell me what happened?" he asked, grabbing my waist and picking me up, holding me bridal style so I didn't have to walk on my shaking legs. I nodded slowly, wiping my face before opening my mouth to tell him the night's events.
