Chapter Five

"Meet me at marvleoid at 6:00pm" why would Malikai say something like That? I brought Marley with me just in case cuz let's be honest Malachi hasn't really been himself lately.

"Its so weird seeing you with hair like that." She stated. When we got there, 5:30 p.m., we sat in a small table at the back.

"So how are you?" She asked.

"I'm okay." There was an awkward silence.

"Well, I'm going to get some food for us, be right back" I said, standing up.

" oh no you don't, you always never get what I want!" Marley smiled and stood up too. As we neared the counter, something about the worker seemed familiar.

"Hey! Kate you came!" Malikai exclaimed.

"Malikai!" I smiled at him.

"Your hair is-" I cut him off saying

"I know"

"So, what would you like?" He asked, straightening his name tag on his purple and white striped uniform. Suddenly I burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" He asked, puzzled.

"You look like such a dork in that out fit!" I snickered. Blushing, he pulled his cap down in front of his face.

"Anyway.... I'll have a hot dog, pretzel with cheese sause and two fountain drinks" Marley requested. After we ate, it was 6:00 exactly. I went up to the desk right as Malikai came out of the doors with normal clothes on.

Without saying anything, he grabbed my hand and rushed out the doors, to the back of the building. "Malikai why did you-" he grabbed me and held me in his arms, his eyes sparkling

"kate... I realized what you said about kaylie, and I stood up for myself like you said I should" he smiled.

"What are you saying?" I asked.

"Kate i... I want you to be my girlfriend." I started at him in shock, feeling my face go red, I stood up and kissed him.

"What took you so long?" I teased, locking my fingers with his.

"How are we going to tell marley?" I suddenly worried about how she would react.

"I think you should tell her. You two are like sisters. It only seems right if you told her." I nodded, opening the doors back into the building. Every thing was normal, except Marley was gone.

"Maybe she is in the bathroom" Malikai said, as if he had read my mind. Walking towards the restroom, I opened the door and called her name. No reply. At this point panic started to rise inside of me.

Running back outside I saw Malikai run out the front doors. Terrified, I ran after him. Then, there at the corner of the parking lot, was the black van that had once kidnapped Marley.

Next to it was a man with a huge scar on his face shuving Marley in! I ran to stop him, locking my arm on his neck, but he threw my back. Scrapping my side as I struggled to stand up, he pushed me down, one hand still gripping marley's arm. Then, he kicked me square in the face, forcing me onto the ground.

Marley pov

Masacer tugged at my arm, scraping it against the van door. Kate was still on the floor, but malikai.... what was going on? He was just standing there blankly.

Then, out of no where he came running at masacer, his fist as firm as rock. Swinging a punch at him, he purposely missed, then used his other hand to punch him in the stomache! Masacer flinched, then kicked m alikai in the shin.

Trying to Block it , he threw himself back, then came charging again. The fight went on, malikai bleeding from his cheek and shoulder. The scar on masacer's nose was torn open again, and his eye was closed and swollen. He kicked malikai back, throwing him to the ground.

"Malikai" I screamed. Malikai found a stone and threw it at masacer's arm.

"Rah!" Masacer yelled, letting go of me.

"Marley run!" Malikai gasped, struggling to get to his feet.

"Get Kate! Take her to the hospital!" He yelled. Finding his balance, he ran after masacer again. I picked kate up and began to run. My arm was still numb from being held for so long, but I kept running. Kate opened her eyes alittle, her face was bleeding all over.

"Whe-where is m-malikai" she mumbled.

"Don't worry about him, he's fine." Looking back to make sure, I saw his knee masacer in the face. That was when kaylie stepped out of the van.

Malikai pov

The injuries stung like a bullet on fire. I threw a weak punch at the man, and he threw a weak one back. Then I saw kaylie get out of the van.

"Kaylie! He got you to?" Forgetting how much I despised her, I ran up and made sure she was okay.

"No.. it's not like that." She looked like she was trying to hide her excitement.

"That man" she pointed at the man with the scar.

"Is my father."

Several minutes of silence pasted.
"He's your what!?" I held back my erge to harm her.

"you mean to say that my friends were kidnapped by your dad?!" I ylled. She flinched.

"Yes but it's not what-"

"my girlfriend was almost killed, and my best friend was kidnapped almost twice and it's not what I think!?"

I raised my voice higher. "YOU of all people should know there is no way to defend him." I looked back at the man, bleeding on the ground. In the corner of my eye, I saw Marley and Kate watching. I couldn't pull out my phone so I mouthed

"call 911" to Marley. She nodded and quietly began to walk away, dialing three numbers. Now, I had to stall until the police got here. I yelled at masacer to get up. But He didn't. Kaylie realized this immediately and ran to help him. Sirens began to sound in the distance, getting closer and closer. Kaylie looked at me with hatred in her eyes as she struggled to get her dad up. Then, a police car pulled In, and a mid height man came out.

"Where's masacre?" He asked. I realized that must've been the man with the scar on his face. I pointed over to where kaylie was whispering something to him. The police officer put hand cuffs on him, shoved him and Kylie in the car and came back. "So, you must be malikai. I'm Bryan. I hate that I have to meet you on such bad standards but, I'm marley's dad.

" I was to tired to care about dad's at this point, so I blankly shook his hand.

"Marley always talks about you. Are you her boyfriend?" He asked. Well, this was awkward. I scratched my head, wondering if I should tell him before Marley.

"No, we are great friends. But..." I paused.

"Promise me you won't tell Marley this. I don't think she is ready." Bryan looked at me confused.

"I know she likes me but...you know Kate?" I asked.

"Yeah, she used to always come over. What about her?" He asked.

"Shes.....my girlfriend" Marley walked up right as I said that.

"What!?" She gasped.
