Chapter Six

I stared at malikai in disbelief. "Is that true?" I asked. Kate stepped forward.

"I was going to tell you but-" I glared at her. I didn't know why I was mad. But I guess this wasn't the first time.

"But what" I asked, settling on feeling annoyed.

"But we came inside and you were gone." That was a decent excuse I guess.

"Can we just put this all behind us?" Me and Kate said, exactly at the same time. We all smiled and agreed to face life together Now, with no secrets. .

"Looks like the triplets are back in business." Bryn said. We all stared at him awkwardly.

"Yeah, wait. How do you know about the triplets?" Kate asked. The triplets was what me, Kate and malikai called each other since we looked very similar. Well, not anymore. I stared at Kate's hair, wishing it was still brown. Bryn waved and walked away, back to his car.

"Well, it's about time I headed home." Malikai checked his watch

"it's 8:12" we all waved and left in the direction of our houses. I got into my night clothes, laid down and closed my eyes. Despite all that happened today, I could still smile and be happy to be here.

Kate pov
■2 months later; January 14th■
"Ah! Just one month until the Valentine prom!" I pictured every one in beautiful dresses or fancy tuxedos.

"I know right! It's going to be amazing!! I can't wait for the food....mmhhmm" we laughed.

"I've already got a date, but we'll have to sign you up for a blind date." I said.

"No I have a date" Marley replied. "Haha sure" I teased. But she looked very serious.

"Wait, you do?!" She blushed.

"We were actually wondering if you and Malikai wanted to go on a double date with us tonight." SHE USED WE INSTEAD OF HIM AND I!! I thought.

"So who is this guy?" I asked.

"You'll see tonight." She snickered. The bell rang, and we parted. I found Malikai before he went to math, and told him the plans.

"Thank goodness I have work off today. And wait, MARLEY has a boyfriend?!" We talked for a couple seconds more before I went to p.e

"It's 5:27" malikai said, checking his watch as I stared out the bus window.

"We should be there on time" he concluded, tightening his tie. He was wearing a black suit with a blue tie to match my black dress and denem jean jacket. We arrived at a fancy restaurant called Raffle bucket baffe'

"wow, thank goodness we won't have the bill" I stated. Malikai nodded, standing up. As we got out, we saw Marley and a black haired tan guy wearing a brown suit talking to her.

"Marley! Hey!" I ran up to her, still staring at the guy.

"Hi, I'm phillieas. You must be kate" I nodded and shook his hand shyly. "Reesa-chan, do you have the present?" He asked Marley.

"Yeah, here you go phill." She replied.

"Aww pet names" malikai whispered in my ear. We both giggled. Marley handed us a small golden box with a silver bow on top, and an envelope.

"Marry late-christmas" phillieas and Marley both said. We opened it up, and it was two necklaces with half a heart. One side said soul, the other said mates.

"Soul mates" I smiled at Malikai awkwardly. We put the necklaces on, and put the envelope in my bag. Then, we entered the building as more snow fell.

Malikai pov

All through the night, we talked about Philease and shared some stories. "So your from Texas right?" I asked him.

"Yup." He replied.

"Cool." We went on, but for some reason he seemed to keep glancing at kate. then finally it was time to leave.

"Well, I had a great time" I said, smiling at him.

"If you ever need Anything, I start work at 3:30 pm and get off at 6 pm." I stated.

"I'll remember that, thanks. " he waved and I said

"see you around." As kate and I waited at the bus stop, there was an awkward silence.

"So, what do you think of philieas?" I asked her. She thought for a bit.

"I don know" she replied.

"What do you think of him?" Unprepared for the question, I stayed silent. Then, at the same time, we both said what we really think.

"He's too rich"

Yawning, I lifted my head wearily. "Mom, I'm heading out," I said, lifting my backpack onto my back. Dining pass the houses I saw Kate and Riley running from opposite directions

"I'm gonna win!" Kate yelled, speeding up.

"You wish!" Marley sped up too. But I didn't need to speed up I was almost all the way there.

today was January 24th 11 days since the double date Phillies had stopped by my locker sometimes but every time he did he was rude about it I tried telling Marley this but she seemed to be full-fledged in love with him probably because every time he was around her he acted like an angel Kate had told me the same happened to her and a few other people close to Marley as well Megan was an example.

Skidding to a hault, I fell over onto the grass, huffing and puffing. Kate laid down next to me, obviously trying to level her breathing.

"Where's marley?" I panted.

"I think she died on the way." Kate laughed. We laid there for a couple minutes, softly talking as we held hands.

"Hey" I looked into her eyes, brushing a strand of her glistening black hair off of her check. "Yeah?" She asked.

"You're beautiful you know" she blushed And stood up.

"Marley is over there" she pointed to a shady tree at the corner of the sidewalk. I lept up and walked to the tree.
