TEN YEARS AGO, a girl full of kindness and joy was taken from the world of light and shoved into the dark part, the hidden part of the world. She was taken by the hands of cold-hearted villains, ones that slaughtered her whole family after they had tried to save her from the darkness.

"Miss Kane." A voice spoke as a young girl sat in the corner, arms hugging her knees to her chest. The girl let out a whimper, pushing herself further into the darkness. "Miss Kane." He repeated with his arms crossed over his chest, glasses covering his eyes. The girl whimpered again but wobbled up, her best friend helping her up, pushing her to her feet so she wouldn't get in trouble.

Her arms ached. No matter how she moved them, they were impossibly numb. Someone could cut them off, and she wouldn't feel a thing. She was exhausted. It had been days. No food. No water. Her numb arms were one of the least of her problems, though they were an irritant. The little girl walked with her head down, her friend waving goodbye as it missed her presence. The guard pushed her forward, the girl whimpering as pain struck through her body from the cuts and bruises that were still healing.

"Why, hello, Miss Kane." The HYDRA scientist greeted her with a smile full of fakeness. "Ready for another check-up?" The used-to-be innocent girl didn't say anything. The guard lifted her onto the table, where she laid down, eyes closed as they strapped her down, familiar with the procedure.

And just like that, her daily torture began.

A scream bubbled out of her chest. It didn't even sound like she was pausing long enough to breathe. Surely she'd have to either stop or pass out soon. But the screaming went on and on, never-ending. The scream that rent the air was as good as a siren. Nobody screams like that unless it is terror beyond endurance. The cry told of the pain within.

Her skin craved the comfort of her mother, of soft skin. She needed her scent, the movement of her body and the feeling of her feet leaving the ground for the safety of her arms. The little girl just wanted to be in the comfort of her family, to see their sweet smiles, ones that shone even in the darkest of places.

Once the screams decreased, the scientist stepped back, removing his earbuds and gazing at the girl with a look of hope shining in his eyes as he hoped that his formula worked this time and that the girl finally became the weapon HYDRA always wanted.

The little girl opened her eyes, which have frozen over like the surface of a winter puddle, robbing them of their usual warmth. She's in there, they knew it, but it's like she just took a huge step back from life and a small green light flashed in them, one that was only slightly noticeable by the human eyes.

"Enchantress." A flash of green shone throughout the room before dark swirls of black wrapped around the little blonde girl that sat in the middle. Once the light disappeared, in the place of the blonde girl, was a dirt-covered girl that wore little to no clothing. She wore a black and white stipped bra that connected by a circle in the middle, between her two breasts, which also held some chains that hung from it.

A pair of fabric was chained around her private area, covering it from the perverted eyes of the world. Chains dangled across her body while some sort of weird tattoo littered her legs. A chocker was wrapped around her neck, one that hung another circle at the bottom. Her hair was straight and black, oily in some places as it swayed in the air, travelling all the way to her thighs. A moon crescent sat on her head; it shone against the light. A dark fog cascaded around her, flecks of gold lights dancing around as well.

"W-what are you?" The girl presses a finger to her lips, a sign of silence. The girl then whispered one word, a word that would haunt them all.

"Enchantress."

And just like that, the whole HYDRA base was littered with bloody dead bodies. Blood was spilt everywhere, on the walls, floor, everywhere. The witch walked the halls with confidence, her chains rattling as she walked, almost like snakes as it wrapped around her body.

"What is going on in here?!" Exclaimed Baron Wolfgang von Strucker as he entered the bloodied room. His eyes travelled to the corner of the room, where most of the bodies trailed to.

"It's a girl." One of Strucker's men said, startling the girl that sunk further into the wall, her best friend wrapping her arms around her in a protective stance.

"Come, child," Strucker said as he walked closer to her, resting on one knee as he kneeled before her. "Lass uns dich nach Hause bringen." He extended her hand, waiting patiently for the girl that slaughtered the whole HYDRA base.

Ellie glanced at his hand, hesitation following in her eyes. Looking at the warm smile on his face, she slipped her hand into his, the male tugging her off the floor before lifting the ten-year-old into his arms.

Her best friend smiled as she walked off with the male. She didn't look sad at all, an understanding smile tugging at her lips as she waved 'see you soon' instead of 'goodbye' because she knew that no matter what, the blonde girl would return to her, it doesn't matter how long it'd take.

Everybody always returns to the darkness.
