Amanda's Point Of View
I leaned forward slightly, my hands rested on my knees as I tried to catch my breath. Damn, I never had realized how freaking long that driveway is. I looked up just in time to see the red tail lights of Louis' car fade off into the darkness of the night. I pulled out my phone and quickly sent Louis a text message saying I take him back and that I love him before I hurried to the rented car parked a ways up the driveway and jumped into the drivers seat, starting it. Just as I was about to take off down the driveway the passenger door flung open and Sammy was crawling inside.
"What? I need to know what happens," he said as he shrugged his shoulders slightly.
I just shook my head but didn't say anything as I took off down the driveway. I drove down the road about a mile or so until I reached the center of the small town where pretty much everything this town had to offer was located. It was about 1:00 in the morning and by that time almost all the buildings were closed besides a relatively small bar known as Buckwheats, a McDonalds, and a small convenient store which is open 24/7 known as Knuckles.
"Sam, you know what Louis' car looks like, right?" I asked him, breaking the silence of the car.
"Yeah, why?" Sam asked, looking over at me.
"I didn't come out here this late at night just to take a drive, I am looking for Louis so let me know if you see his car anywhere, got it?" I asked, looking out the windows to see if I could find Louis' car.
Sammy just nodded his head in response before he began looking out the windows for Louis' car as well, hoping to find it parked somewhere. Now that I know the truth and I know what actually happened between Louis and I, I knew what I needed to do, I needed to find Louis, tell him how I feel about him in person, hopefully we'd get back together, and we would just have to hide from my dad until we figured out what we are going to do. I was so caught up in my thoughts about what I would do when I found Louis that I almost didn't hear Sammy beside me.
"The car is right there. Amanda! Louis is over there. Amanda listen to me ,the cars over there!" Sammy was practically yelling until hefinally got my attention.
I looked over to where Sam was pointing and sure enough Louis' car was parked right outside of Buckwheats. I pulled the car into the small parking lot in front of the old and slightly run down building and parked the car beside Louis'. Sam and I jumped out of the car and walked into the small bar together. I was a bit surprised to only see a few people in the room, Buckwheats is usually full of people no matter what time of day it is. There were three drunken men who were probably only about thirty or so sitting at a table talking so loudly about a football game they were practically yelling at each other, a younger looking bartender who was too busy talking on his cell phone to notice practically anything else that was going on around him other than the conversation he was caught up in, a man who was probably my age sitting at a small table alone, and then there was Louis who was sitting in a darker corner of the room with a bottle of beer in his hand and his head rested on the edge of the table. A small smile crept onto my face as I began walking over towards Louis but before I could get very far I was shoved up against the wall by the man who had been sitting alone. I quickly realized who it was, Kyle Wright, one of the many enemies I had made in high school.
"Amanda York, how the hell are you still alive?" Kyle asked, cocking his head to the side slightly as a smirk found its way onto his face.
"What the fuck do you mean?" I asked confusedly trying to push him away which only caused him to pin me to the wall of the bar room.
"I sent someone tto kill you dumbass but that obviously didn't work. I guess these days if you want to get something done you are going to have to do it yourself," he growled as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun. My eyes widened in fear as he ripped me off the wall and shoved me to the floor. "Get up, now!" Kyle demanded and I did as he said, tears now streaking down my face.
"Hey, get away from her!" I heard Louis yell from behind me as he got up from the table he was sat at.
Kyle raised the gun, aiming it directly at my head, his finger rested against the trigger. I shut my eyes tightly, whimpering quietly as tears streamed down my face. I did not want to die but I knew I would, right here, right now. I flinched as I heard Kyle shoot the gun but I instantly opened my eyes when a body had hit the floor right in front of me and I realized I had not been shot. I looked down in horror to find Sammy laying on the floor, clutching his chest as crimson blood stained his grey t-shirt and his shaking hands. I collapsed to my knees by Sammy's side, sobbing as I looked at him. He had jumped in front of me and gotten shot. By now Kyle had run out of the bar and I could hear the wailing of police sirens but I was only focused on my dying cousin in front of me.
"Oh Sammy," I cried, picking up his bloody and shaking body as he gasped for air, hugging him to me. I didn't want to lose Sam, he was the only family I really liked anymore, he was one of my best friends, the little brother I never had and I just couldn't lose him now. "Sammy, you're going to be fine, I love you, just hang in there buddy, the ambulance is here, you're going to be okay, I promise Sammy, I promise," I cried.
The paramedics quickly barged into the bar, pushed me out of the way, and loaded Sammy onto a stretcher before they hurried him into the ambulance waiting outside and quickly took off, speeding to the nearest hospital. I buried my face in my hands which were now covered in Sam's blood as I sobbed. I heard Louis crouch down next to me and pull me into him, hugging me comfortingly as he rocked me back and forth gently, stroking my hair and kissing the top of my head softly.
"He'll be okay Amanda, I swear Sam will be fine, he's in good hands now," I heard Louis whisper into my ear but I didn't believe him for one second no matter how much I did want to believe him, I was almost positive Sammy was going to die tonight and it was all because of me.
I feel like such a dick for not updating for the longest time. I'm so so so sorry for such a long wait and no, I don't have an excuse for the wait, I just haven't written in awhile. Well, I'm hoping to update more often but please don't hate me if that doesn't end up working out because I had been saying I'm trying to get into a new school before and well I got accepted so you know, it's always hard to go to a new school so that'll definitely take up some of my time but I promise I'll try to update more. Anyways, now you guys know who wanted to kill Amanda in the first book and aw, poor Sammy, what do you guys think will happen to him? I love you all, stay beautiful xx
