Amanda's Point Of View
I ran a hand through my hair as I followed my mom inside the house, a silent yawn slipping out from my mouth. The plane ride had made me rather tired which I thought was weird considering I slept for almost half of the ride. I walked straight into the living room where I could hear the laughter of Chanel West Coast. I entered the room to see my younger cousin Samuel laughing to himself as he watched Ridiculousness, his feet propped up on the coffee table as he leaned back further into the couch. I couldn't help but laugh quietly at one of the videos that played on the tv screen, causing him to snap his head in my direction. As soon as he saw me his eyes widened, a smile instantly spreading across his face.
"Oh my god Amanda, I missed you so much!" Sam said as he stood up and practically ran over to me, wrapping his arms around me tightly. Although he was only fifteen which was six years younger than me he was already taller than me by at least an inch or two.
"I missed you too Sammy, how have you been?" I asked, pulling back from the hug so I could now stand in front of him just to see how much he had changed since I last saw him.
"I've been good, I moved in here about three months ago, things back home were just getting worse and worse," he replied, shrugging his shoulders slightly.
"Oh, I'm sorry bud," I mumbled. Sam's dad used to abuse him and his mom so he would spend a lot of time here, it made me feel better knowing he was here now and away from his dad.
"Do you uh, do you want to go play basketball or something?" Sam asked a bit awkwardly, raising his eyebrows in my direction.
"Basketball sounds fun to me, just let me go change out of these jeans," I replied before I grabbed my bag and ran up the stairs, heading straight into my old room.
I pulled out my black yogapants and a simple white tanktop, pulling them on. My mind kept drifting off to Louis and my dad, I hoped whatever they were talking about wasn't bad. I really really hoped my dad wasn't beind mean or yelling at Louis just because he had tattoos although I kept thinkng that was what was happening at the moment. I let a sigh roll out from my lips as my eyes landed on Sammy who was tossing the ball up at the basketball hoop in the driveway. Sammy was like my little brother and to be honest he was probably the one that I had missed the most. I quickly threw my hair up into a high ponytail before I hurried back down the stairs and out the front door. I smiled as Sam passed me the ball and I shot it up, making the basket.
"Not bad, not bad," he chuckled as he passed me the orange ball to shoot again.
"Not bad?" I scoffed pretending to be cocky which was something I used to do a lot in order to make Sammy laugh. "I'd say I'm a pretty damn amazing basketball player, I mean look at these amazing skills I have that you don't."
I passed the ball through my legs a few times before I ran towards the basket and attempted to do a backwards layup but I missed. I ended up sliping on a rock when I landed which caused me to fall and land in the grass next to the driveway on my back, laughing hysterically as Sammy bent over, clutching his stomach as he laughed at me.
"What the hell are you two laughing at?" My mom yelled out through the kitchen window, a slight smile tugging at her lips as she watched the two of us laugh uncontrollably. She couldn't help but chuckle slightly as she watched us, awaiting one of us to answer her question.
"Y-your dau-daughter here sh-should be a p-pro basketball pl-player," Sam choked out between fits of laughter causing me to laugh even harder, tears now rolling down my cheeks as I laughed. After a few minutes of laughter we slowly stopped laughing. "You're such an idiot," he chuckled as he stood back up, offering me his hand to help me up. I took a deep breath to stop myself from laughing anymore as I took his hand, standing up on my feet. "And that's why I missed you so much, it's been really boring here without you," he admitted, looking into my eyes seriously, a smile now tugging at both of our lips.
