Amanda's Point Of View
I grabbed Louis' hand, intertwining our fingers as we walked down the road together with our suitcases in our other hand. We had just arrived in Delaware, the plane ride wasn't that bad, I was mainly just thinking about how my parents would react to Louis. When I wasn't thinking I was either listening to music or sleeping. We were now walking down the practically abandoned road towards a car dealership so we could rent a car for the next month. I've already seen a few people that I recognize but they don't seem to recognize me which I'm actually happy about. For some reason I didn't want people to recognize me, there were a few people that I kind of wanted to recognize me but the majority of people in this town I prayed wouldn't recognize me.
We finally found the car dealership and Louis pulled me inside towards the front desk. He talked to the guy for awhile, discussing policies, prices, and deals before we finally got the car we would be stuck with for a month. Louis grabbed the keys from the guy before he walked over to the car, setting out luggage in the back of it. The car wasn't that bad, it was small which was okay, it was black, and it seemed to be decent with gas. We both got inside, I was in the driver seat because I knew Delaware the best, Louis has obviously never been here before so there was no way he would know where to go.
"Don't be nervous about your parents Amanda, I'm sure they'll be fine," Louis said after a long period of silence, reaching over to take the hand that wasn't on the steering wheel. He squeezed it slightly, trying to be reassuring.
"I don't know if they'll be fine, my dad isn't the easiest guy to get along with, he can be really judgmental, he's worse than little girls," I said, turning to look at him for a moment before I returned my eyes to the road.
"I just don't want you worrying about them, no matter what they say or do I will always love you Amanda and I hope you will always love me," he mumbled, running his thumb along my knuckles.
"Well Louis, I'll always love you too, you don't have to worry about that," I murmured quietly as I pulled into the small town I grew up in.
I drove down the quiet roads until I finally pulled into the long driveway of my parents house. As we neared the small house I saw my mom rush outside, a big smile on her face. Just seeing her made me smile, I haven't seen her in such a long time and I had missed her so much. As soon as the car was parked I got out and walked over to my mom, hugging her tightly. I pulled away from the hug to look at her with a smile, a similar smile tugging at her lips.
"I missed you so much Amanda," she said, unable to get rid of the smile on her face.
"I missed you too mom," I mumbled.
My mom looked to my left as Louis walked to my side, wrapping his arm around my waist and holding me close to him. Before anyone could say anything my dad came out of the house walking to my moms side. He eyed Louis for a moment before he looked at me, a slight smile falling upon his face.
"Hi Amanda, it's good to see you again," my dad said.
"Hi dad. Um, I want you guys to meet Louis, my boyfriend," I mumbled, sounding a bit awkward.
Louis stuck out his hand and shook both my parents hands. Once he pulled his hand back he rolled up the sleeves of his sweatshirt revealing the many tattoos that covered his arms and you could literally see the anger build up in my dad's eyes. I don't know why he hates tattoos so much but he wants our family to have nothing to do with anybody who has any tattoos no matter where they were, what they were, or what they meant.
"Amanda, I um, I'm going to take Louis here for a little ride, just to uh, just to talk and uh you know, get to know him better," my dad said before he grabbed Louis' arm harshly, dragging him down the driveway towards his car parked a few feet away.
"Bye Louis, I'll see you later, I love you," I called down the driveway towards him before I turned around and began walking towards the house.
Before I could even reach the rock path that led to the porch I felt two arms wrap around my waist and pick me up off the ground, spinning me around. I felt Louis' lips pressed to my neck as he kissed the skin several times quickly. "I love you too, I'll see you soon," he whispered in my ear before he set me down on the ground. I turned around to face him, placing my hands on his chest as his arms wrapped around my waist again, our lips meeting. It was a quick but passionate kiss and to be honest I didn't want it to end. The only reason we actually pulled away was my dad was yelling at Louis from the car. My dad was telling Louis to hurry up, he obviously wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible and do whatever it was he wanted to do or talk about with Louis. "I love you Amanda," Louis murmured again, pressing a kiss to the tip of my nose before he removed his arms from my waist.
"I love you more," I mumbled, a soft smile tugging at my lips.
He pressed one final kiss to my forehead before he jogged off down the driveway towards my dad who was now sitting in the drivers seat of his car alone, waiting for Louis. I knew I shouldn't let Louis go with my dad but I did anyways which was one of the most stupidest things I've ever done in my life now that I think of it.
