We all were siting in Asher's house. Asher's house was pretty small, so stuffing all of us in was a challenge, but we did it.

"So Asher, what did you want to talk about?" I asked.

"Oh I just want to get to know you guys, and I want to know why you are here."

"We are just here to explore the volcano." I said.

"Oh is that all?" Asher asked. "Well as long as you don't interfere with the sacrifice there won't be any problems."

"I have a question."Jason said.

"Oh what's your question?"

"Why, and when did the sacrifice start?"

"I don't know when they started. All we know is that they started when the previous gods where at war. The volcano erupted killing hundreds of people. The ones who survived where faced with famine, and some diseases. I couldn't imagine how hard it was for them back then. The People got so desperate they tried everything, but nothing worked. Day and night people tried to contact our godless Pele, but she would never answer us."
"Isn't the godless' name Aitzber?" I asked.

"Aitzber is the one who defeated Pele, and became the new godless of fire. After a longtime of not being able to talk to Pele; the people of this tribe decided that she needed strength to win the war. The only thing they could think of was giving her human life. So many lives where already being lost to starvation and diseases, so they though that a few more lives wouldn't hurt. They climbed to the top of the volcano, and pushed three people in at first nothing happened, the people had almost given up hope. Then Aitzber appeared in the volcano. Our ancestors told her what was wrong, so she blessed the land. Her blessing made it so we could grow crops again. How ever two years later the crops began to whether, and diseases swept the land. Our ancestors hadn't done human sacrifices in those two years. They got a group of people to climb the volcano to see if there was anything wrong with Aitzber. Aitzber had grown weak from the blessing of our land. In order to give her strength our ancestors decided to start giving human sacrifices again. They decided on one person a year would be enough to keep up the strength of Aitzber. So far it has worked. We Haven't had any of the issues."

"What are you thinking Tyson?" Jason asked.

"Maybe we should come back in two days." Illa suggested.

"No we will stay here. Hey Asher, is there an inn here?"

"But of cores we have an inn."

"Great let's head there."

Later that night.

"Hey Tyson are you sure about this?" Julia asked, as she took a sip of tea.

"Yes I am." We were sitting in a restaurant in the inn. "We can save the life of a person, and also show them that they don't need to keep doing the human sacrifices."

"But what if they do?" Jason asked.

"There is no was that a goddess runs on human life."

"Yeah I find that hard to believe." Cypress said.

"How can you explain when they didn't do the human sacrifice, there tribe when to shit?"

"That part I don't get. I have been trying to wrap my head around that, but I don't know."

"Maybe Aitzber does need human life." Julia said.

"I don't buy that. How could a goddess need human life? It just doesn't make any sense."
