"Young master, there's a visitor from the royal family."
Grey shivered, he began silently praying it wasn't the oldest prince, Prince Jeremiah Raymond. Gulping down his nervousness.
"Who is it?"
"It's his royal highness Prince Raymond."
He had the worst luck in the world!
Immediately he bolted to the bathroom, he had to be quick, change and immediately attend to the prince.
Raymond sat silently in the lounge as his guards stood in two rows one at each side.
They were all stiff-necked men with years of military experience.
Prince Raymond was well known as the only prince to become a general at the tender age of thirteen.
Slaughtering the enemy's army and helping out his father in the third cruel war five years ago.
At the moment he was eighteen and had control of the imperial army. He was considered to be a prodigy and as the oldest brother, he was naturally the next in line to be king.
That made him the dream husband of every eligible young lady in the kingdom.
Unfortunately, there was a small problem, he was ruthless and cold earning his nickname as the silver demon. His odd white hair that he shared with his siblings and his nasty cold personality had earned him that name.
In this world, the nobles and the royals were all blessed with odd-coloured haired with various royal families having different and unique hair reserved purely for the royal line.
The Royal family of the Lux Kingdom all had white hair, it was a well-known fact.
Once a woman married into the royal family, if she is accepted by the family the initiating ritual will be held and her hair would become white under the eyes of the church.
No one fully understood the process of the ritual, no one but the church and they were known for being very conserved and secretive.
The church was run by the Arch Bishop and the Arch Queen, it is their duty to tend to the religious needs of the kingdoms that are under or in alliance with the Lux Kingdoms.
In this world, you could say that the most important person was the Arch Queen especially since she had connections with both the church and the royal family.
However, there has not been an Arch Queen who is able to sit next to the Arch Bishop, the Arch Bishop chooses the Arch Queen and for the past 50 years, he hasn't chosen one.
And god hasn't seemed to be against the fact that no Queen is good enough to take on the role of the Arch Queen.
But Raymond had a suspicious feeling that that wouldn't be the case for long.
"Your highness."
Raymond's eyes shifted to stare at the young boy that had been running around his younger sister like an annoying fly lately, his knees trembled slightly and the sight of this lily-livered boy that would become his little sister's husband in the future left a bad taste in his mouth.
She deserved better than the son of a duke.
He could not understand what the king was thinking.
"Spit it out, where did she go?" Raymond asked taking no heed of the formalities that came with visiting a noble.
Grey shivered, of course, Prince Raymond knew that Earle had told him where she was going.
Grey wasn't foolish enough to hide it from the silver demon so he spat out everything he knew including what they saw in Vanessa's room.
He was sweating and he felt his knees weaken, Prince Raymond was absolutely terrifying.
"I see...." he said placing his hand under his chin as if he was thinking of what to do next.
"Men! Saddle your horses let's go meet your princess in the Nieve Empire!"
You know, I believe it was at this moment Grey had looked up at Prince Raymond and actually admired him instead of quaking in fear.
He didn't know what came over him as he said. "Let me come with you!"
Maybe he had been possessed by a petty demon that had been plotting his downfall.
He had expected for Prince Raymond to completely dismiss him but instead, he said "ok. Ready yourself, we ride at noon!"
Maybe it was that Prince Raymond had secretly planned to kill Grey to get him out of his sister's life or to train Grey to be worthy of his sister, or he could've also wanted to sell him to the Nieve Empire and get him married to one of the princesses there.
Personally, I feel like he just wanted to kill him while giving the excuse that he was too weak and died of motion sickness.
But what would I know?
