josh walked into his home saddened by the conversation he had had with his father. he walked into his room, his skin glowing blue. the blue almost matched the color of his hair when he had previously dyed it. he hated his life. he hated the way he lived. he hated how his family had to hide. he hated what the humans would do if they figured out. how they would kill them.
josh doesn't like to talk about it, but he was almost taken away with his sister too. but that was when he didnt know what he really was. he didn't know much back then.
but that's just not someone he wants to be anymore. and he wants to find someone who wants him. and he thinks he did. but his family would never approve.
oh, how josh wished he wasn't like this. he hated the way his skin would glow either green when he got suicidal, red when he was angry, or blue when he was sad. he had stopped going to school. because whenever he got emotional like that, he had to run out of the class room so that no one would see him.
and no one ever did. he was lucky for that too. that was how his little sister, ashley, was found.
josh was petrified.

there was a soft knock at josh's door to which he didnt respond.
"joshua, we need to talk."
but josh didn't want to talk. he didnt even want to look at his father.
"i just want to say sorry. im sorry for trying so hard to make you become like us. i just don't want them to kill another one of my children. but i cannot change who i am. im so sorry."
josh wished that he could believe what his father said.
