(Meaning ‘runner’)

Adaptation: large open spaces (grasslands, deserts, etc)

Description: thick, mottled green and brown scales; cobra-like hood along neck, black underneath with red markings; rattle forms on tail from past sheds; forked tongue; red eyes; desert varians are more sand coloured

Abilities:
- inject a potent venom into prey through fangs; causes paralysis, fast-working
- barbs on the arms and legs also hold the same venom glands, have to be pricked to attain the poison
- very strong and skilled fighters
- desert variants are able to raise their scales to vent heat

Vocals:
• deep, bellowing roar - used to settle territory disputed between packs

Social: Live in medium packs of up to ten dragons, led by a dominant male - very territorial and aggressive
