Dragon: Flos
(Meaning ‘flower’)
Adaptation: rainforest
Description: long, sinuous body covered in smooth, lightweight scales, when the newly hatched dragonet is born it is pure white, once it chooses a flower its scales transform to look like that flower (above Flos chose a starflower); long tongue designed to drink nectar from flowers; males have crescent moon patches on the underside of their wings, change the colour of those, when relaxed, mimisks their chosen flower; frill attached to horn and neck; near the end of its tail it has petal-like sails, coloured like its chosen flower’s petals; small in size
Abilities: - change the general colour of its scales depending on its emotion: when relaxed, it looks like its favourite flower, when frightened, its scales turn the general colour of its surroundings, useful only to help it blend in, not perfect camouflage - drink, and survive off nectar as a main source of food - in case its flower dies out, it can survive on fruit for a certain amount of time - change its sleep cycle due to flower’s activity (ie. starflower = nocturnal pattern/ fire flower = diurnal pattern)
Vocals: • chirps like a bird
Social: This species has chosen to be pacifistic and doesn't consume meat, this means they do not contribute to the population control that the others do, dragons may create small villages if their choses flowers grow in the same location
Cherud: Fruit Bat (male, chosen flower is a giant bat flower)
