(Meaning ‘ice’)
Adaptations: cold water and cold weather - south pole
Description: smooth scales, black looking from the top down and white looking from the bottom up; webbed talons; webbing along wings/tail/head/chest/legs; streamlined body build; talons are flat and have serrated pads on the bottom with claws facing down - grip on the ice; small wings; has blubber
Abilities: - creates shards of ice by shooting and freezing water from its mouth, can be shot up to 12m above water and up to 6m underwater; needs to store water in a pouch in its neck in order to create shards - needs to replenish sources - can hold breath underwater for up to an hour
Vocals: • high pitched, trumpet-like call
Social: Mostly solitary, but they can group up to tackle larger prey (ie. leopard seal)
