When the bell rang to signal the end of detention, all seven students stood up and walked out silently. Ever since Jackson offered them a chance to finally end their lives, they hadn't said a word. All seven of them were in deep thought.

Jackson knew that he wanted to kill him self. Some people may not think what he goes through is enough to cause suicidal thoughts but he just knew he didn't belong on earth. It was the same with Maria. She could always move away and start a new life but the underline of her sickness would still be there. As will Aria for Jackson. It was a curse they didn't want to live through anymore.

And for Noah and Max, the idea of killing themselves stuck throughout the half hour that had had left of detention. Noah wanted to kill himself, a gay faggot like him shouldn't exist anymore.

For Max it was the thought of knowing that when he got home, his parents would only end up fighting again. It would be another night wasted, another sleepless night. He didn't want that anymore. He had zero family left from what he could tell. His mother was kicked out of her family when she got married with Max's father and pregnant with him. Although her family liked Max, they despised his father and that was enough to keep them away.

"Hey Noah!" Max stooped and watched as Jackson waved his arms to get Noah's attention. When Noah finally turned his gaze from the ground, he jogged over to him. Together Noah and Jackson began a deep conversation, one that Max couldn't hear.

Max turned away from them and instead headed home, passing Sophia and what looked to be her new friend, Anya.

"What do you think about his offer?" Anya asked Sophia. Sophia clutched her aching stomach and looked at Anya "I don't know, my life at home isn't the best but it's what I've got. Killing myself over it seems a little dramatic but then again, I don't want to be here. The things my mother has me doing makes me want to kill myself but for a different reason" Anya nodded her head and rubbed Sophia's back in a comforting and soothing manner.

"I know exactly how you feel, except I don't think it would be dramatic to do what I've never had the courage to do" she smiled to herself "ever since I was little, I knew I never belonged here. In a rich neighborhood going to a rich school, it wasn't me but then when my stepfather became more. . .physical, it was like my eyes opened up and saw things in a different light. I don't want to be here, I shouldn't be here. All you have to ask yourself Sophia is, can you see your future? What will you do after school, are you going to travel, settle down?" Anya turned to gaze at the empty parking lot.

"My future is about as empty as this parking lot. Sure I could go to college, get away from my father but there will always be this underlining fear and self doubt that something bad will happen to me that it spikes my anxiety. I can hardly introduce myself in front of a baby without breaking out in tears or shaking like a Chihuahua but here I am talking to you, someone who feels my pain." Anya sighed, turning her gaze back to Sophia.

"You've got the rest of your life to try and act normal. To fit in, but what happens when you don't, hm? What happens if you can't fit in and all you can do is sit in your room and think about your teenage years. You'll go into depression, you won't be able to provide and support yourself. You'd need help. I'm not trying to convince you, these are just a couple of things that go through my head but as I said, where do you see yourself in the future?"

Anya walked to her car after waving goodbye to Sophia then drove home.

The last of the group that was left was Raymond, Sophia and Maria. Jackson and Noah had disappeared after a loud speak left Noah's lips.

Raymond caught up with Maria and Sophia who walked the same way home, Sophia had taken the city bus to school but it wouldn't come around until four p.m and she didn't bother to wait. Raymond in the other hand should have already been in his car and on his way home.

"What about you guys? Are you going?" Maria looked at Raymond and shrugged. "Yeah, I think I am, what about you. . .?" Maria looked at Sophia and trailed off realizing that non of them new each other's name.

"I'm Sophia and I might"

"Might?"

Sophia nodded, "yeah."

"You will" Maria smiled looking at the children running around and playing at the park. Sophia frowned "how do you know?" Maria gave her a side glance before replying "everyone has their breaking point, mine broke a long time ago when my parents denied my medical conditions and denied me my medication. Yours is coming, I can tell" Maria, Sophia and Raymond were silent the rest of the way home which took an hour or so.

On the way home, they stopped by a store to get some ice cream and something to drink. With the three of them it was like time slowed down.

There was no screaming parents, no lies, no friends telling you what is wrong and what is right. Society didn't rule over them for those couple of hours that they spent just walking and occasionally talking. Maria had forgotten all about her parents not caring about her medical conditions, Raymond forgot about his parents believing the lies spilled and Sophia forgot about her mother selling her body off.

They had all forgotten.

That is until they reasoned their neighborhood.

And just like that, they remember.

They remembered the lies, the deceit, the screaming and the disbelief.

Maria, Sophia and Raymond opened the doors to their houses after splitting up to get to their homes. All three of them opening their front doors at the same time and the only thing that ran through their heads was "there's no place like home."

Author's Note:

So I'm deciding to make this book a chapter or two longer. I don't think I can explain everything that I want in such a short amount of time and I think one or two more added chapters would help express my ideas.

The next chapter you read will be a new chapter. It's not rewritten, it's completely new.

Anyways! Don't forget to Vote if you like, Comment if you want and Add this book to your library so you won't miss an update!!!!
